Error with new update

Well i instaled service pack 1 from and its work for windows 7 x64

error 0x80240017 is fixed for me ( i installed that 1.9 GB file from official Microsoft page)

and ofc after install service pack 1 update i unistall and install again VC_redist.x86.exe and VC_redist.x64.exe and its work after that .

(Well to be honest ... before i install 1.9 GB service pack update , i instaled all updates from control panel > system & security > windows update there was arround 8 importan updates maybe 100 mb all together and 13 not important (mostly files name updates for x64 procesors or something ) but after i install all of them its still wont work so i instaled 1.9 gb patch then reinstall VC_redist.x64.exe and 86 and after than was work.... so maybe you need do updates too

I also had the general problem discussed in this thread,decided to uninstall the game completely removing all files from before
Now after a clean install of the client it doesnt want to start downloading at all becasue of this error msg and no VC file can be located in the redist folder.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Same problem here, downloading huge fix files from MS didn't helped.

have you tried this VC File?

install or do repair, and then reboot

Well, I've tried several different VC builds, both x86 and x64. I finally forced my system to install VC, but not the 2015 version.

It seems that's MS fault, not GGG...

have you tried uninstalling with the x86 file and then reinstalling with an x32 or x64?

After this whole procedure you should be able to launch PoE.

Edit:never mind i tried it and doesn't work

DISM ended up with error 776.

I guess it's the end of my adventure with PoE.

Make sure that you have right version of hotfix.
Pick the right one from this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2999226

File name will be different than in my previous post so have to be changed in command line.
