just don't change anything to your PC waite for GGG to fix it u can't do nothing else then waiste your time trying to make it run. My advice is to take a brake....

" +1. I was able to update the game without issues on my windows 7 x64 (up to date) partition, but it is not working anymore on linux unfortunately for me either. I've not found the option to install this newly required runtime in wine. But I guess we should expect these kind of issues sooner or later from a game that is not officially compatible with linux. best patch ever, I can't open the game anymore. Same screen error from that guy on first page, missing some .dll
Tried unistall all C++ versions and install the x64 or x84, both don't work, I still get some error shit message... win7 64 here. I'm not going to install 2gb of windows crap content like SP1 or enable windows update because both of this windows shit packages will probably brokes my whole computer and force me to format it in the future, since windows is shit. Please don't tell me I have to take 10 hours to uninstall, install, reinstall and reboot just so I can finally wait another 10 to patch a huge Ascendancy patch. I haven't touched a damn thing on my computer just yet, because I'm hoping GGG fixes this themselves instead of forcing the 10 hour Windows C++ class on every player that wants to play their game. If that ends up being the only solution, looks like I won't be playing Ascendancy this weekend. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Bring back race seasons.

Same issue here...missing api-ms/win/cit/blahblahblah... Un-installed and re-installed all clients, spent 3 hours on suport with microsoft to get their bs windows update crap running again, re-installed all vdist versions...still no joy. Waiting on windows to do it's apparently hour-long search for updates though maybe that will help.
Win7/64 btw I understand that this is a free game, but some of us have spent quite a bit to support it...some feedback or suggestions from ggg would be appreciated. I'm missing out on my last few days of talisman here spending 8 hours trying to solve this problem that your client updated created. =(... Update: Another 3 hours online with microsoft support they enabled some missing .dll's that enabled me to do windows update. I thought at this point perhaps I may be otw to a solution...uninstalled all vdist versions, rebooted to ensure .dlls weren't loaded, re-installed both x86 and x64 redist, rebooted again to ensure proper .dll loads and attempted load...again got to 45% download then I get the missing ati...message.
