Just ignore the scammers - people that are against these sort of thing are people that want to rip new players off. But truth is, there is a general currency enchange which is flexible. A system can not exist where a skill gem is worth 2 alchs one day and 2 gcp the other - except to those that want to rip people off.

Not just 'another' - the one to rule them all, obviously! ;)
And one that would allow you to enter your own values, so you don't have to follow the 'standard' - although I'm betting 95% of the people who are selling things will be happy with that :)

But I don't really know what to do - poetools.com already exists, and even poecalc.com already exists (and is an ugly and inefficient version of what I have :/ - but I doubt the owner will want to just hand it over regardless). And without a good domain name, I don't think the tool will ever get popular, and I'm not going to invest donzens/hundreds of hours in it then...

Excuse me for bumping my own thread, but I still believe this tool > the other ones currently out there :) At least I know I'd have loved to have known of its existence, hard to believe nobody else who does a lot of trading is looking for this :o

Currently working on a feature which will allow you to link currency sets (offers), so you can easily include them in your forum posts using an IMG tag, like so:

As soon as you'll be able to give a name to a currency set, I will also include this in the image. Perhaps I'll add the option to create an image link with all sets, their names, and the winning offer - that would be ideal to put in your main post to list all offers & the one you currently value most.

Do you see that little graph google posts there? Where it goes up and down? Yeah. Currency value is a function of time, where X(t) = value of currency at some time, t. Notice how the graph is not a flat line.

Currency exchange rates in the real world fluctuate so quickly on a day to day basis that people make a living playing games (hedgefunds) in currency markets, making millions and millions on subtle shifts in the market (at times).

POE is not different. Today, 1 alch is 2 chaos, tomorrow, it might be a 1:1 or a 1:3 conversion. GPCs and Exalteds are even less stable.

Any attempt to standardize the market is toxic. Economies need to be dynamic, or you have sudden bubbles and collapses. Then we'll have dozens of threads where people complain that poexinfo has "jumped the shark" because Exalteds lost 50% of their value over night and new players complaining they can't buy Divines because they cost 100 gcp each.
