Currency Parser - Path of Exile Toolkit - poetoolkit.com

http://www.poetoolkit.com/

- Currency parser, translates any textual currency set into a currency of your choice
- Compare multiple currency sets to find the highest offer
- Create an image link for currency sets
- Use the default exchange rates, or create your own
- Forum title generator: turn any text into an image link which can be inserted in forum posts

You start by simply pasting the offers you receive into the textbox, optionally selecting a different currency item to translate into. Add as many offers as you receive - the highest offer will be highlighted.

Using the 'link' icon next to a currency set, you can copy an image url which you can use in your forum posts, like this:

If you want, you can change how much you value each curreny item. Each currency item is represented in its own row. You can choose which other currency item you want to compare it to, and set your own ratio. Any offers you already pasted will immediately reflect your new exchange rates.

Use the 'Save' button to store your values in a cookie on your computer. Each time you re-visit the site, your own custom values will be loaded. At any time, you can reload the default values by clicking the 'Restore default' button.

This tool does not have the intention or ambition to impose you to use 'standard' exchange rates, or to try to 'fix' the economy. It merely helps you - whether you are a beginner or a seasoned player and trader - to quickly identify the highest offer you receive for the items you're trading, by 'translating' currency items into one and the same currency item. Using the exchange rates you think are correct.
On top of that, combining the stored exchange rates of all users will allow to keep track of actual, average market values of currency items.

If you like this tool, just use it for your trades, and please give this thread a bump by leaving a message! :) Also if you encounter any bugs, or have suggestions to improve it, let me know here! I'll add a changelog to the post below.

I am unable to publicly host the code, but if you would like to aid in the development, contact me and we'll see if we can work something out!

You're right, don't know how that got there. I'm using the values I found on --link removed-- a few days ago :) Might be wrong/outdated - site's been down all day so couldn't update anymore. Note that compared to --link removed--, I'm only going to suggest the estimated current 'global market values', because I get the impression people still want to be able to overrule these with their own values.

Anyway, I changed chaos to be twice alchemy (and as much as regret - although I doubt orbs of regret are actually valued that much).

For your information, i'm currently using this table:

Spoiler
exalted: 300
divine: 150
gcp: 60
regal: 25
regret: 20
chaos: 20
blessed: 15
scouring: 10
alchemy: 10
fusing: 10
chisel: 6.25
chance: 2.5
jeweller: 2.5
alteration: 1.25
chromatic: 1

These sort of tools will never last in a dynamic economy. Every time I see one of these, I die a little inside. They totally take out the "bartering" aspect of the game and replace it with dollars and cents.

All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.
How will they never last in a dynamic economy ? I think it's futile to deny that in any economy, the law of supply & demand will always count. People value one item more than another, hence every item will receive an implicit value.

Prices may fluctuate every few days/weeks, but again, I don't see a problem in tracking/updating these prices automatically, for instance by taking the average of how 'active' people value them.

And nothing stops you from totally ignoring this and accepting an offer which is worth less in theory, but which is just something you need at the moment!

>realworld economy is not dynamic

Because currency exchange does not exist in real life.

This, This, One Thousand Times This.

The difference between PoE currency and RL currency which has true exchange rates is that in RL you cant use a penny for one thing and a nickel for another. All you can use real currency for IS currency, and it doesnt disappear from the universe once you do. I guess the exception would be scratch-offs...I prefer nickels or quarters. ;)
I really don't get it :) How do you explain, then, that pretty much everyone values for instance an exalted orb worth ~2 divines ? I'm not pinning a fixed value to these currency items, I'm just making it easier to compare offers. GGG named these things currency items for a reason, you know, as an alternative to gold, to make it easier to trade things. And by adding a use ("sink") for them, they simply prevent enormous devaluation of currency, but it doesn't mean you can no longer value one currency item x times more than another.
