Path of Maps - Track your map runs

To anyone who wants to track maps and map drops in a digital system, without the need to alt tab in and out of spreadsheets or other programs, I would highly recommend this tool.

This program is really simple to use, with straight forward commands. The commands are case sensitive, so be aware when entering the basic commands (start, drop, master, master name, note, end, etc.). There is also a slight delay with the program when entering commands, allow a little time of if manually entering a number of text drops or notes.

A few things I have become aware of while running the program. I cannot figure out how to add map level to a Zana mission in the start line. However I am able to put the information into an edit command and the Zana mission is updated accordingly. While it is odd I cannot get this to happen in the single start command(string is map name, iq, and ir), I have become comfortable with the edit command to provide all the relevant information.

Maps entered via the drop command are added to the drop row on the website in order of submission. If you like to have map drops displayed in numeric order, like I do, wait until the end of a map run to enter them all in one string in ascending order.

The note command is simple allows me to add any additional notes I might have, and keeps the information out of the way, and hidden from the basic view of map details on the site.

I am not a fan of the item icons(the in game icons for notable drops), just a little too cluttered for my taste. Because I do not have to use that feature, and can stay away from the home page of the site it isn't an issue. My suggestion for a fix to make it less cluttered would be to have an expand button in the row where the in game icons show. By default they are hidden behind the button, and only expand when clicked. This keeps the home page more simple in display but allows people to use the copy/paste recording feature. I assume I am a minority in this as I see more and more users posting maps with drops like this, and as such I don't think it is actually worth the time to change.

I do have a suggestion I would like to see, that others might appreciate as well. Being able to sort maps by character on your account page. I just finished my map goals with my hardcore character, and will go back to other characters. Being able to view by current character only would be appreciated.

In its current state I really enjoy using this program, and look forward to tracking maps on a new character in Talisman. Thanks for the work with the program.
Thanks a lot for the review @ChronoExile :)

- when you're having issues doing something that's in the "documentation", dont hesitate to let me know, it's probably a bug ;) I actually found one for the "lvl" option, where it was still "mt" (for "map tier").
So now, both should work (if they dont, let me know):

"
> s name Temple lvl 75

"
> s name Temple tier 8

- I see what you mean with the in game icons. I personally like it because it brings some of the game personality in a very clean not-wraeclast-ish interface, but it definitely clutters the UI a bit.
I'll make a note to add a setting to hide them in the listings, and I'll get to it eventually :)

- filtering by character is a good idea. I'm building a search feature right now, so at least you'll be able to filter by character name manually. Then I can think about building an interface to do that specifically maybe ;)

Thanks for using the app and for all the valuable feedback!

I made some upgrades for ahk script. It takes first to clear local chat then send commands.

pom
+d::chatCommand(">d")
+s::chatCommand(">s")
+e::chatCommand(">end")

chatCommand(text) {
IfWinActive, Path of Exile
BlockInput On
Send, ^c
Sleep 2
Send, {Enter}
Sleep 2
Send, /
Sleep 2
Send, {Backspace}
Sleep 2
Send, %text%
Send, {Enter}
BlockInput Off
return
}

Shift+d - to start map
Shift+d - to copy map/item
Shift+e - to end map

http://ahkscript.org/ download on the right

I'll try to make something usefull with note and master commands.

Nice review ChronoExile!

Awesome :)

I modified it following Illviljan's advice: http://pathofmaps.com/pom.ahk (you only want the command to exist when the PoE window is active). But the change to clear the chat is a great one thanks.

Yeah. It's much better with checking active poe window. It should be other way do it in the loop but if it works its enough for me.

I'm lazy so i made something for note and master commands:

"
#IfWinActive Path of Exile
+z::Command(">master ")
#IfWinActive Path of Exile
+x::Command(">note ")

Command(text) {
BlockInput On
Send, {Enter}
Sleep 2
Send, /
Sleep 2
Send, {Backspace}
Sleep 2
Send, %text%
BlockInput Off
return
}

shift+z - master
shift+x - note

Noticed two things I would like to point out.

A wild Zana gave me a Maelstrom of Chaos map, and in adding it to the tracker using the '> start name Maelstrom of Chaos Map' command it did not provide the correct monster level, or unique map icon to the system. I think this is because I did not use an 'o' with umlauts. I do not know the keystroke command to add the accent, and did not want to alt-tab out to copy the umlaut 'o' to my clipboard. Would it be possible to have the system recognize both when manually entering this map to the list of maps run?

Also while entering the same map I made a typing error. I entered, '> start nam Maelstrom of Chaos Map' because name was spelled incorrectly the program stopped reading after '> start', and reopened the map I had just finished. I needed to go to the website and delete the duplication, and resend the manual command with correct spelling. Is there a way to make it so a misplaced e will not do this? Or should I just be more careful when typing my manually entered maps?
Good point on the map name, I'll make a note to fix it.

As for the second issue, I could potentially do nothing if the start command had unrecognized options, instead of ignoring them and executing the simple ">start" command. That would make sense...

Thanks :)

Here's a little preview of the upcoming search. It will be useful for you, but also for me, to build stats.

Anybody here is used to run atziri a lot?
What could I do to make it easier to track atziri runs? Something like > start atziri and > start uber?
