"Path of Exile - Trade Simulator" and why I'm Quitting

PoE needs higher quality drops in the base game (i.e. bias toward more level appropriate uniques and higher tier rare affixes at higher ilvls). We needed item filters due to the abundance of low quality drops cluttering the screen with text spam, but GGG could have just as well reduced quantity and ramped up quality.

And even with custom filters, if you play large party coop with an iir/iiq culler, the text spam is still unbearable.

Too much time is being spent identifying, analyzing, organizing for recipes, and vendoring rares and uniques that are really, really underwhelming (does anyone even care if they see inner treasure or get a zana map with the find a unique objective? It's just inner disappointment, or find the disappointment). Too much stash space is being spent hoarding currency that is either never used or requires hundreds/thousands of click spam (because the chance of rolling anything good is so small).

Such drawn-out gearing mechanics also seem generally inconsistent with a short rolling wipe temp league / race season format.
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.

The main problem with "self-found league" that it is ill defined and there are stark contrast compared to how different people want to play self found. Even if GGG made a "self found league with buff drop rates" you may never find the items you need for your exact build and character anyway.

Totaly Agree with you even if Self found is designed by the removal of trades many other things still variable from one player to an other.

It doesn't mean Self found can't be created but it's requesting more than personal toughts on every forum threads talking about SF yeah.
Hf :)

The reason they dont/wont make a self found league is that if you could play the game with a drop rate that increased your items to a level equal to trading, who in their right mind would still trade its one of most painful experiences ive ever had in a game. Not only does know one know how much things are worth their isn't even a decent way to pay for your item once you have some-how decided.

On a related note is GGG not at all concerned that top tier rares costs 400+ exalts it would concern me that only a handful of players could EVER even hope to use them, i mean at this point they may as well not exist.

Has it ever crossed your mind that "exists, but may as well not exist" might be exactly what's intended, and good game balance to boot?
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
1)Drop rates
2)Trading
3)Build completition speed
4)RNG progression
5)Balance not to my preference...

... Were the reasons i quit playing PoE over a year ago. Non of them are "valid" reaons, neither the game would be better if it was closer to my taste. Just better to me. Between this acount and my other one(Poutsos), having few characters over level90 characters and some in the 80s, and gearing them up took way too much time of my life, and my builds were usually failures, making me drooling for the next free respec to try something else(and usually fail again).

For me the main reason to play this game is rerolling, but PERSONALLY, i feel that a character is complete when he is ready to do some maps successfully and has decent gear. Meaning anywhere between levels 80-95. Since this proscess, is to me ver time consuming, and the means to do it are way too much bound to trading, plus my disagreements with overall balance lead to me quiting.

I've said it before. I love aspects of PoE. For me it has the most incredible skill tree ever created, and some of the most interesting unique items out there. But for me, the only way to ever play it again is if GGG, release a purchasable offline single player client(with the ability to connect and play with friends through lan or even online, if they want and have the offline client), where the game would be open to player modding. This way each one would be able to have his personal favourite balance, droprate adjustment, building competition speed, and even modify the skill tree to his liking. No more tears, no more messing with the drama over various issues here in the forums. This was what made skyrim so successful on PC afterall.

Of course this only applies to me who does not give a rat's ass about ladders and shit. And definetely i mean the offline client to exist in addition to the 'actual" online, competitive client. But in terms of online PoE, no matter the changes and new content, between my master's degree, my work, and the mandatory military service coming in January... No, never gonna play again. I 'd rather ride Roach up a mountain top in Skellige and just gaze at the view. I still ejoy the forums though :D. As a wise man said, they are the end game.

this reminds me of schrödingers cat in some way ...
Trying to be self-found is fine and its a player's right, but its a self-imposed restriction that really restricts most builds (as even if something good drops its not going to be what you need). Consider also the increase in 'items' that we now have, like jewels, div cards, maraketh weapons etc. This essentially forces trading, and trading could be a good thing if it were well done. Unfortunately trading is a pain, and if it were not for sites like poexyz I think none of us would be playing anymore!
Summarising, what we really need is better trading tools. Less frustration, and it would feel less like a trade simulator. I think this would make the main difference at the moment in poe.
This is another trade is evil post. Why it is so hard to play PoE and just casually trade is beyond me, i guess it's either you are selffound or a full blown trade god. If you play a game WITH an economy, then obviously the drops are balanced around that. Add in the billions of uniques PoE has and selffound with a pre determined build will never work very well.

You could spend just abit time trading here and there, and make your life so much easier. But you just refuse to at all and then call the game bad and a trading simulator. I think it's really sad it's coming to the point where every selffound hippy just can't see clearly anymore.
I have a friend that continues to play this game that doesn't like trading. He does so w/a small group of people and calls it good. I'm not crazy about trading, but don't mind it if I'm in the mood.

I think the peeps that REALLY hate trading should find a guild or some trusted friends to keep trading to a minimum and max their enjoyment.
Censored.
Why do people call it a trade simulator? You're not simulating trade. You are actually trading.
