comparison of firestorm of bosses in high maps

crematorium boss and malform boss are the only bosses i have to skip as summoner. just no way to do them without losing all or most minions.

so far i have not seen a single word about summoners in this thread. people do play those builds too and it's not fun to have your level 78 revenants wipe that took 20 maps to find.

3K+ Firestorm explains alot! I personally NEVER have an issue with this boss! But one thing that makes her fight really tricky is not so much how hard it hits but how long it lasts! She can damn near cover the whole room before her first one will stop to give you a spot to go to! It can also become quite the potato killer as well as a result!


i don't think she crits more often than other monsters. doesn't say anything about enhanced crit rate when mousing over her. i read somewhere here that monsters only have 5% crit chance.

It's a different issue, and GGG should eventually do something about it. They haven't yet given summoners the love they truly deserve.

Every once in a while I think about playing a summoner. Then I think about doing that dance every time a spectre dies, wasting my time trying to find one to summon him.. no thanks. GGG should really fix this.

Just give some more bosses Elemental-Pen like Magnus, makes Resistance still worthwhile but doesn't trivalize it with 90+ resistance or oneshot players who "only" have around 80% resistance.

She likely has the regular Firestorm Critchance and normal enemies 130% critmulti, so even if she does crit, it doesn't matter that much, crits from monsters without any enhancements aren't really threatening.

Yeah Megaera and similar bosses (Shock & Horror, Piety) are the reason why I don't really know how a better minion-ae could allow for numeric nerfs for summoners. Whenever I meat those bosses the minions feel so incredible weak. And thats with 75% spellblock and amounts of HP most players can only dream of. Evangelists are still the only spectres that are usable because they survive all those messes atleast if you have enough damage to blow the boss up before the shield runs out.

Still Crematorium is an easy boss even for summoners, she might kill your spectres but the fight overall proposes no thread to the summoner. I usually only run Crematorium with Upper Sceptre Evangelists, because if I lose them it doesn't really matter.

The other two bosses though... well Arsenal just got an increased level without any changes to the boss. The hardest bosses before hitting 80 are actually around level 72-76. 72 starts with Graveyard and Villa, 73 brings Colonnade and Temple, 74 is the known Trifecta of Labyrinth, Torture Chamber and Jungle Valley and in 75 and 76 we have Orchard, Residence and Malformation. From 77 to 79 there is only Necropolis, Volcano, Crematorium and Village Ruins, there are some more annoying ones like Courtyard or Academy but I prefer them over most of the difficult maps above although Colonnade is quite simple if you don't have to tank Kole due to being melee.


I never really understood why they moved Arsenal and Springs up there. They are simply too easy. If they should have moved Villa, Temple or some of 74 maps to a higher level and moved plateau down. I wouldn't actually mind some easier high maps, but there are two things I totally dislike:

1. With exspecially 74 having a lot of annoying and quite difficult bosses it is really hard to get past that level (as a summoner clearing Torture Chamber normally means losing all Spectres at least it has to be expected).

2. Due to some maps being harder the pool of maps you use actually is a lot smaller whenever you have the choice to avoid them. Exspecially in the 68s I will never run Desert or Pit if I can simply run Tropical Island or Dunes which both have fairly easy bosses and a good layout. In 69 I basically only run Channel and Mountain Ledge. And since the harder maps don't offer a better reward there is no reason to not avoid them completly. Why should I ever torture myself with Volcano if I can just run Plateau?

And putting Springs and Arsenal up there just means more ways to avoid doing actually hard maps.
