Worth running 76+ maps as high level?

Ahhh exp loss from death and exp penalties are fuckin stupid, its part of the reason I hate this game now...that and the shit GROUND EFFECTS that kill my framerate, so fucking sick of it
Added 2 more tests:

white 73 strand map (no full clear): 1085232
blue 73 crematorium zana-map with only a beyond mod as a useful mod, 15%iiq (no full clear, no boss): 1448721
lvl74 map: 233645330 - 232392173 = 1253157 (spawned 0 unique beyond bosses)
lvl76 map: 235071217 - 233645330 = 1425887
lvl76 zana map: 236694393 - 235071217 = 1623176 (spawned 3 unique beyond bosses)
lvl78 map: 237911659 - 236694393 = 1217266 (1 exile & 1 minute defending elreon's relic, which added a lot of xp)

Holy crap. Did a blue 73 map with JUST beyond mobs (and no full clear, no boss) on par with a 130 iiq lvl76 map and more than a 78 map in terms of xp?

First conclusion is still: map mods = king. Sure better map mods on higher level maps scale even better. But a 73 map with at least the beyond mod will outscale 76-78 maps easily. If you roll magic/rare monsters on top of it, then your 73 map just got better than a 82 I bet.

2nd conclusion: you waste a lot of time rolling the good map mods for the expensive maps. Let's say you waste 1 minute on rolling good map mods and then you also perfectly vaal it. That 1 minute could have been a 20%+ mapclear in a 73-75 map.

The xp difference is somewhere between 14-19%. With godlike mapmods and a lot of luck perhaps up to 60% extra xp. This comes at the cost of 0.5-1ex. Let's just assume that you roll 50% of your maps godlike and 50% totally crap, then the extra xp gain would be about 22%. The conclusion again is that vaaling maps, assuming 50% luck, is not worth it because you effectively get the same xp for your 78 maps than for running alced 73 maps, assuming you run 73 maps in 4 minutes. That is quiet imbalanced no?

Second conclusion is that vaaling high end maps is not worth it, it is better to just chaos them until you get beyond+magic or beyond+rare and just go with that instead. Because vaaling it may brick your map with useless crap mods, or even mods like blood magic or double reflect.

Thirdly, I'm not 100% sure, probably gotta test running a 78 map and a 74 map like labyrinth and compare the base xp. I bet they are not far off from each other, or perhaps the 74 even yields more than shitty maps like Volcano. Which would be another reason not to run 78 maps if this were true.
Does anyone know the base xp gain for 78 maps?

My Final Conclusion is indeed that speed-running alced 73-75 maps are on par with xp/hour on high clearspeed builds compared to running 78 maps (with or without vaaled orbs).
And that running white maps is not really viable until you get somewhere around lvl 96-97 where even a 0.5% extra safety matters more than a tiny tiny bit of extra xp per map.
I must add that some values were estimated and that maptype and clearspeed also matters.

I'm sorry but if I am even half right about this, then the mapping system needs another rework.

How do you measure xp gained? If you measure it on gems, this makes your calculations incomplete, as you don't factor in xp penalty which gets brutal for high lvl characters for lower maps.

If you measure the actual xp gained by a character and not a gem - which lvl character you are using?

Example:
lvl 93 character
74 map: 91.3 % xp penalty, you gain 9% map xp
76 map: 84.59 % xp penalty, you gain 15,4% map xp
78 map: 71.75 % xp penalty, you gain 28% map xp
80 map: 49.19 % xp penalty, you gain 51% map xp
For the ease of calculations, lets assume base xp is the same for all maps (although as you showed this isn't true, with same rolls higher maps give more)

Running one 80 map = 2 * 78 maps = 3 * 76 maps = 5 * 74 maps
One 78 gives same xp as around 3 * 74 maps.

Basically, viability of running lower lvl maps depends on your char lvl.
At 93 running 76s is still viable, but not 74s unless you can clear them 3 times faster than a 78 map.

I measured gem xp only. You are right... I forgot the xp penalties... I am an idiot.
So a level 78 map still yields roughly up to 3x more xp due to xp penalties compared to a 74.

However the 76 maps don't seem worth it for a lvl93 considering their cost to xp ratio. So either 78+, or 74-75 maps.
no one mentioned yet that you can mouse over xp bar to see xp/hour? let me be the first to suggest this then.
