Don't agree about trading. I don't trade, but my standard witch is pretty much in the same place. Can't seem to find a better item. On the other hand, I know there must be better gear, so that keeps me excited whenever a rare drops.
I've always liked uniques, also the "trash", so when one drops I'm also happy.

It is true, however, that the better your gear, the harder it becomes to find an upgrade... which is to be expected.

I also like the fact that you can find items early that will be hard to replace. One such item is Goldrim, which now is much rarer. The resists made it really hard to ditch it once you had it. Now that it is not one of the common drops, I guess more players will appreciate it.

Yep, it's quite horrible. One of the reasons why temp. leagues are appealing - since you start bare naked, looting is interesting at least for the first week, before it degenerates into searching for that needle in the pile of trash. In Std, it's more like 1 : 10^32

That GGG nerfed hard a lot of popular uniques, doesn't help either. 130 hrs into mapping, haven't found yet a mightflay (but I've found 8+ lifesprings = "mightflay for casters"). Haven't found Aursieze, LC, CoD... items that were popular and used. But I guess it's ok, cause these nerfs are counter-balanced by half the town wearing a white T-shirt now...

if upgrades drop every few minutes. upgrades will stop having any meaning.
not to mention the inflation that's going to happen.

progression should be something you work for not something which is given to you on a silver plater.

if there's any problem it's your expectations.

as for those that complain about the LC, belly rarity changes.
lets be honest they were to strong for often they dropped.

That's the nature of any game like this where items doesn't get 'used up' while being used...
As you find more and more items, the level for what is 'good' will go up, and you'll find less and less 'good' items.

Your amount of MF will not affect how many 'good' items you find! It'll just make you find that amount of them faster... MF or not, at a certain time you'll essentially find no more.

The only two solutions GGG could offer would be:
1. Make items get used up (yes, that Shav's will eventually degrade and break)
2. Continuously buff item drops and capabilities (which would be a nightmare to balance)

PS: Even having played for 1.5 years, I still find stuff like this (2 days ago), so it's not all bad:

Now I'm not asking for D3's system; That shit is awful I'd know since I still have a 1k+ Paragon in it don't ask why I played that for so long.

But here I'll give you an example my runs go like this alright now I do this for over hours and hours and hours.

I mean sometimes you get stuff like this shit alright. but once in a blue moon I guess.

Now most of my runs are like this in terms of how items drop, This right here was pre-nerfed arena before they nerfed it however my drops are still similar to this in most of my ''MF'' runs that I do

Most of my runs range from always 75+ maps with stupid mods most of the time that most people won't do because they are likely to die. Now you can imagine doing this for 12 hours+ in nearly every day? Yeah It's bound to take a toll in someone's sanity aka me but that's not the point.

I think (and have thought before) that you over-egged the cake on some of that. We're all running stupidly overdone mods, temp chains more than ever... You're not alone nor are you running things many of us can't do. Soz.

But I agree - like you, I see one good rare in about every ?5000? ... I've probably vendored 100x more things new players would want to use than I've gotten useful gear. With the trade system as is and focused on 'only gain via other players'... It's hard to feel excited even when that incredibly rare drop occurs. Who cares? I've put in thousands upon thousands of hours GGG... It's not exciting anymore - particularly when you screw my map pool over.

My main focus now is to run out my remaining map pool and then go play pillars of eternity or something more fun.

D3 loots devolves into lousy uniques and lousy ancients too after a while. No real difference.

You've played for too long, that's the basic cause...

In your first 1 hour, you'll find as many 'good' items as in your...
next 10 hours, in which you'll find as many 'good' items as in your...
next 100 hours, in which you'll find as many 'good' items as in your...
next 1000 hours, in which you'll find as many 'good' items as in your...
next 10000 hours, in which you'll find as many 'good' items... and so on (numbers may wary).

If you've traded for 'good' stuff, you've also basically 'shot yourself in the foot' as you've moved the level you consider 'good' artificially upwards...

There is no way GGG can solve this.

You, however, can! Delete your stash of items, delete your characters, start over. You'll find plenty of 'good' items then... :-p

You just have stop looking for that "omfg now I am rich" drop or even that "hey! thats worth at least 1 exalt" and be happy every time you find a 6 socket item or a gcp / chaos. That currency always adds up. I have never played a league in which I couldn't afford to buy almost anything just from the currency I made from picking up rares / 6 sockets / item that gives a chromatic etc. etc. etc. Its easy.
