Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
I have a similar error. Game froze(4s) and i got back to login screen. (Display Driver stopped responding) Nvida Drivers are up to date.
Multiple times. I play in windowed borderless mode. Windows 10 gtx 660 ti palit(factory overclocked). I have display driver crashes. I could solve the pc complete freeze and hardreboot by underclocking my gpu to the normal Clock rate. Last edited by traceelement#2829 on Dec 21, 2015, 6:05:30 PM

Did a complete driver uninstall using DDU and upgraded to the 361.43 nvidia drivers just released.
Still getting my PC freeze up while playing and having to hard reboot. I'm using Windows 10 and 980 gpu. I only get this in Path of Exile, every other game runs fine. Last edited by Toyah#6982 on Dec 22, 2015, 2:39:35 AM

Same here. Tried Everything Latest Drivers, Older Drivers (3-4 diferent Versions of CCC), Downclocking, Overclocking, PoE high Settings, Low settings ... Not sure what else to try. See alot of these posts and no proper Fix.
My GPU is Radeon R7 200 series. |

This one has been working for me so far.
Go to Nvidia panel control-3d settings-power management mode and set it to maximum. Last edited by darmar79#6354 on Feb 8, 2016, 3:00:04 PM

I had been running this game fine for months until Sunday, February 7.
Then the game starts crashing the video driver. The last time this happened was when Awakening was being prepped. With the upcoming update, I fear that the game is going to continue to crash. This behavior is unlikely due to the local system hardware or resources. It would be nice to know what is happening with the server load during the times of the crashes. Is the sync with the server causing the graphics crashes? Unfortunately, there is insufficient information to confirm the latter speculation. I will have to wait like last time to play again without the crashes. |

" Nothing at all on the server would cause your video drivers to crash. The only thing that can cause your video drivers to crash are things local to your system hardware, drivers, or other resources. It's possible that the client is in some way causing the crash, but in almost all cases I've seen, it has been a hardware or driver issue in configuration. Either the hardware is being overclocked, overworked, or undervolted... or the drivers are not responding properly and Windows detects this and restarts the drivers. Most of the times I've seen problems were simply due to configuration issues with the card or profiles. |

Sometimes, is the new released version of game program not optimized well, for this, maybe the game program does not optimized well when it runs after 5minutes, it take more of the GPU. And normally, when this happened, I will do the follow things:
1. Try to check the graphic driver, and update it to the latest version. 2. End program, especially for the video program and game program. 3. Reset the TDR value data. Mainly added the tdr time. 4. Reset the GPU frenqucy. 5. Update the motherboard/bios drivers. 6. Cooling computer. 7. Change the display card. And I follow this article: Step to Fix Display Driver Stopped Responding and Has Recovered, it shows why you do all these thing. And why it happened. https://www.driverdr.com

Chiming in that I have also gotten this problem a ton since 2.2.1 patch (?). Previously, it was rare to have PoE crash/freeze. I am on a 290x and have tried everything I can think of to alleviate the issue. It certainly seemed to happen with a lot more frequency using Windowed Fullscreen. With regular Fullscreen, I can get 1-2 hours in before I have to restart to avoid a freeze.
Levelling in hardcore has been quite sketchy these last few days. |

Getting this also, normally it takes 7-8 hours for it to crash, now its like, every 2 hours... :/ i can now say that its the game doing it, nothing else...
I know that because i can play The Division, a game that is more prettier and graphical, then this game, for 18 hours straight. Twitch: twitch.tv/slayertip

I also get this. It has happened every single time I have killed Marveil, right when she gets to around 5% HP.
Otherwise the only other time it happened was when I picked up the Plum in the gardens, and then it even managed to crash my entire computer. This thing is absolutely absurd, and the game is terribly optimized as well as I go from 300 FPS to below 20 completely at random. I can even stay above 100 FPS in most combat scenarios, but sometimes it just feels like crapping out. |
