I'm at lvl 87 and using a 4 link to SRS:
SRS (lvl19) + spell echo (lvl19) + Melee Physical Damage (lvl19) + Minion Damage (lvl19), all socked into a helmet +2 level minion gem

I dont have a staff, I am using Queens Decree. So I can summon 10 zombies, 5 Spectres and can sustain up to 60 sec of vaal skeleton (wich I use a lot)..

Any clue?

you run out of mana/es/life? or just cant summon more cuz of cast speed?

I think it is because cast speed, cause I have about 1500 ES (Im using eldritch battery). All my mana is reserved (Hatred/Wrath). And I have 5100 of life...

Do u think I could summon more with a staff??

The staff is good cuz u can reach lvl 28 srs wich is extremely powerfull. U can get 11 cast speed with catarina craft or better (but thats dificult). But even with a staff u wont notice a big difference. Its probably cuz ur jewels have no cast speed. The cast speed u can grab from jewels its insane. In tree, getting 4 or 5 cast its kinda hard (allocating a notable, not many in tree anyways), a jewel, in the other hand, can have 1 or 2 of those mods. I have cast speed in pretty much all jewels and i can summon 20++ easily with no vaal haste. Also, maybe u havent allocated the skill duration nodes yet, that can be a good amount of srs too.

What do you think of this option please ?
