Dear GGG
Maybe just combine a account name with a character name, separated by dot. „AccountName.CharacteName” (displaying AccountName on interface elements can be an option) Each CharacterName will be unique only in its AccountName scope. Isn't it a better solution? Old accounts just leave as they are. Even if they are no longer playing PoE they don't deserve 'sneaky' character name change, I think. They really have. I love GGG. My all time favorite gaming company. They have the best quality, constant new things, they don't even charge you for the game or to play.... and their customer service is above and beyond. <3

Joke. I really dont care if the usual 'boring' movie/book/anime/song/actor/etc.. names are freed up (again) because i make my own names. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. Never realised people were so attached to their character names. I think choosing a new name on the spur of the moment kinda adds to the fun. Or is it just me.
Timezone: GMT +10 (Australia). CASUAL player but I play whenever I can.
