The Rengar! (nugiyen's ranger)

I'm gonna give this a go.

Nugi re-spec Iron Grip to Inner Force. So, don't take Iron Grip ?
Inner force versus Iron grip will depend on what buffs you are using, and your gear, do you need more phys damage for conversion to elemental damage? or do you need less time casting things like frenzy?

as for the question about elemental conversion, I will attempt to respond.

if you convert physical to one element it will convert that x% out of 100% regardless of how many other convert physicals you have, but your Physical damage remaining will be less the Total % converted, so with LA and black gleam you will do 100% physical -(43% + 50%)= 7% physical damage but the percentage of light and fire converted will not be effected by each other.

examples with my gear, LA not linked and black gleam has 2-4 fire damage and 43% conversion to fire, my quiver does 1-4 physical and +25% weapon elemental damage, and I have 20% weapon elemental damage in passives:

no quiver +la+wrath+anger
24-40 fire
36-154 light
26-77 physical
total 86- 271

MY quiver +LA+WRATH+ANGER
28-46 fire
41-178 light
27-79 phys
total 96- 303

BLACKGLEAM +LA+WRATH+ANGER
53-122 fire
36-154 light
4-11 phys
total 93-287

these numbers shine an interesting light on the build.
so far I have been advocating the use of Physical damage bows over added elemental damage bows, I still do to an extent but there is an equilibrium point at which the added elemental damage will outshine physical damage, but more lightning damage also helps to apply Shock, so physical damage still helps in this regard.

To the veteran rangers out there:

I would like some clarification on how the mechanics of using a high phy dmg bow and then using elemental conversion equips/gems/skills to attain end game dps

Eg. if you use blackgleam quiver 50% conversion of ur physical to fire, does that mean that ur bow will only do half of your physical dmg now, with another half with fire dmg?

does this works similarly with hatred aura, added fire dmg gem etc, and how does it works when u use both hatred aura together with blackgleam etc, will you be left with very low physical dmg? in that case how does a high physical bow with conversion outdps a triple ele bow with high rolls? assuming with gd gears to support it, thanks! - quoted by petrov in his elemental ranger thread

I believe Convert and Add works differently.

Assume the following:

Blackgleam Quiver at max roll converts 50% of your Physical Damage to Fire Damage.
Hatred at level 20 adds 25% of your Physical Damage as Cold Damage.

Then let's say you have 200 Physical Damage, a Blackgleam Quiver and a level 20 Hatred Aura and used a level 1 Ice Shot (converts 40% of your Physical Damage to Cold Damage), you'll deal:
60 Physical Damage
40 Cold Damage from Ice Shot
100 Fire Damage from Blackgleam
50 Cold Damage from Hatred
Totaling to 250 overall damage.

no
I bought a better one for 1 GCP. :|
I'm trying this build right now. Got to the part of the tree with Duelist life. Right now I'm using Poison Arrow with Silverbranch bow (lucky me) and I'm killing rather farst. But when I tried to swap to other bow, my DMG drops like crazy. When should I swap for Lightning Arrow and other DMG. Poison Arrow +2 levels is nice, but creeps starts to get to me, which is dangerous.
