So you are upset because new tiers of mods are now available, thus making your mirror worthy items no longer perfect. This makes you mad because it somehow invalidates your time, even though you'll probably still be able to one shot everything in a millisecond. Let us not focus on that though.
Let me still answer this. Crafting a 6*T1 item is expensive. It costs from several hundreds ex up to 1000+ ex in orbs. Up until yesterday I could trade my 6*T1 items for other items/orbs that are in the ballpark of what it did cost me to craft them. Now, their trade value has been cut in half - at least. I have lost about 2k to 3k ex that I could have used to trade for other items.

Instead, I want to know what you want. Do you expect all content and all future items to simply, always fall into the same level we are now? You already have all the best items. So what exactly are you hoping to get from the game? Do you want to just have it stagnate where it is forever? Wouldn't the addition of new mods encourage you to now achieve those mods? To further maintain your level of perfection?
Everyone bitches that they want more end game options and lets say that they put out an expansion entirely focused on the end game. But you don't want them to extend the rewards for that end game beyond what is already in the game. Which means you'll end up doing very challenging content(In theory) but you won't ever be able to improve yourself because they aren't allowed to add equipment better than mirror worthy items in the game now.
I just, don't understand it. If you are worried that it somehow invalidates your time(It doesn't). I GUESS I can see that, but I mean, no matter what they add. You are going to crush it, handily. What are you using all that wealth for that you can get mirrored gear? Wouldn't you want more and better mods, so you can put that wealth to use?
It could be that my mentality of not being attached to in-game items prevents me from understanding this problem. I don't see how the ceiling going up hurts anyone. If anything, it should motivate you to strive for that new ceiling.
This new ceiling is also not required for anyone to actually reach to complete content. PoE is not difficult enough to require mirror worthy gear to complete everything it has to offer.
I think if you stop and take a breath, you'll realize that it isn't that big of a deal.
What I expected is what they promised (and delivered, in the previous expansions). Item and character delveopment that does not invalidate the efforts I have put in item and character development.
Vaal Orbs are a perfect example. You need to make a skill gem 20/20 before vaaling it. Thus the effort of leveling it (twice) is not lost.
Another example are new options. For example, the new affixes for flat elemental damage for spells or the Master-Crafting affixes served that purpose.
Yet another example are the passive jewels. Further examples woudl be new item categories (pants anyone?).
There are so many options that I simply can not understand why they resort to enable the creation of items that are strictly (numerically) better than the existing 6*T1 items. The only idea I can come up with is that they WANT a soft reset. And I am really upset about that since they always indicated that they would not do that.

Its just like in real life. They are many type of rich people.. They are the ones that stay rich and try to get richer.. Then they are the lazy ones.. like OP that doesn't like change. His wealth came from maintaining items he already has that superior than others. Until a new and better ones comes out *The ones that try to get richer will try to obtain it... The lazy ones are F***ed because they have to spend so much time crafting again. Or were extremely lucky getting great items which they use to trade... Or they simply didn't know how and were very lucky crafting and hit the rng lottery.
People feel like having the same top tier items won't devalue, many people do.. comparing poe to d3... d3 destroy your time completely... Poe on the other hands its not by that much.... a person using 20c can clear high maps just as much as a person that want to be perfect and spend over 200ex.
I notice the people that are rich are getting mad. Personally i love it. Give other people a chance to be happy. The rich usually forget the poor people.. the ones that don't matter. In OP case I feel like he doesn't care about anyone else than himself.. like most of the top rich players that hate the new idea of newer tier items... It life. This change GGG did it amazing. Biggest improvement so far in my opinion. I love this change because there should always be a new goal to get items.
Personally i say you shouldn't try to hard to understand people reasoning. It just give you a headache.. i read some of the post here and its truly is a headache.. I don't know how the mods can do it..Everyone want their voice to be heard and its crazy how people think sometimes.. but hey it is what it is.. can't change that! I also agree with your post. if things doesn't change.. the game will get boring. What the point of having a new expansion with the same boring items... new tiers have to be implemented.. new goals have to be achieved. For GGG sakes they have to do this.. its an ARPG. Its simply is unavoidable. At this moment the competition is to high for poe to compete with.. they are other games similar its about keeping players happy, and interested. From experience i played many ARPG but poe is simply much more creative with their character skill building. They are much improvements needed i think they know that... so they slowly improved it. That how you run a business. You have to keep the people coming for more :D! Get rid of the ones that are entitled brats and the ones that don't like change and don't understand how video game works.. things don't last forever.
Path of exile is evolving. It has to.. Nothing will stay the same forever. Expect much more future changes later on and don't be shocked.
I find it interesting that you consider me "lazy". I have literally spent thousands of hours in order to craft top tier items. You have not even reached level 90 on a single character.

Sup Faendris.
Half of your mirrorables were IIQ/IIR from your post; I don't think those stats will be going away anytime soon, although it is possible somebody has hoarded some ilvl 79 20 IIQ amulets in anticipation of this. Also, I'm actually saving up for a copy of your amulet, if it makes you feel any better.
Sorry about the other pieces of mirrorable gear. I took a bit of a hit myself on my more expensive items and good drops, and probably lost a few hundred ex of value. Just keep playing and move on; it's all you can do. I'm sure I'll make my exalts back in a few months, and you can too.
Also, yeah, you know they wanted a soft reset. Mirror folks had formed a monopoly, which is terrible for the economy; it was time for some government regulation in order to break up those monopolies. We're in the libertarian-to-anarchy style of economy right now, which is just as unhealthy long-term as communism. And you know how it is...
Economy > Everything, including you and me. Which makes sense, because if it tanks and becomes terrible, they'd potentially lose a lot of player base.
In their eyes, it's time to break the monopolies because it's good for their economy! Plus, quite frankly, adding in new mods does add additional content that people can grind for, which then potentially keeps the vast majority of people interested in PoE for a longer period of time.
Personally, I saw this coming a few months ago.
Makes you wonder about if and/or how uniques will scale up since they're all being devalued compared to rares now. What will happen to the prices of those legacy uniques, huh?

Why can't we just forget about the economy for a second, stop thinking about getting rich, flipping items, how much currency we have used up to this point and how much things costs.
Most permanent players players have more than enough gear to fist fuck all of the new content. A couple of new "carrots" is in my head what games in this genre is all about.
If I knew now that there would NEVER come higher leveled items of mods, I'd get somewhat depresses. And I'm a self found player, meaning I don't even have close to a 6xT1 item.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

While I do have empathy for your perm league Best on Server items being suddenly not Best on Server after Awakening is out (so please do not send me to gallows right away) - the game and its players will do what they always do. Adapt. Optimize. Evolve.
Might as well try the temporary leagues.

See, we just enjoy different things. I think that is OK! I did not mind when they added master crafting to support self-found play. Adding another tier of existing prefixes does nothing to improve gameplay for self-found players but it hurts those who enjoy the game in the way I do.

So I am curious, you do not feel that the upper limit of what is possible on items should ever change? For the entire duration of the 7 more acts that GGG wants to add? Shouldn't you want new and better things to try and acquire? Otherwise, what is the point? You already have god tier status with your items. Every time they add new content, you will steamroll it without any challenge whatsoever.
I am not saying it didn't take you time to achieve your items, or cost. I am aware of how expensive it is, as I've tried my hand at it a few times for lulz and decided it wasn't even remotely worth the effort since the game is too easy to ever require it.

I am not "wise" enough to answer that question ("never" and "always" are always hard). However, I do belive that GGG should do two things first: (1) explore other ways of item development - I do think there are many of those. (2) If they decide to add another tier of existing affixes they should give us a fair warning a long time before they implement it. In that way the value of the items would gradually decline which is way more acceptable.
The main problem - for me - is that they went from "We will do everything to not invalidate your effort." to "O hey, by the way, we will invalidate thousands of hours of gameplay when 2.0 hits." within a heartbeat. That is really bad.

Right but what exactly do you feel means your effort is 'invalidated'. Let us say that the difference between your power level with new affixes and your current ones is say...5%. Do you still feel invalidated? If the difference is so little?
Also, what if they add new item affixes that aren't higher tier but are suddenly much better for your builds than existing mirror items. Does that also make you feel invalidated? The same goes for tree changes, mechanic changes, that might affect the value of your items because they are suddenly not as powerful in the current meta. Does that also make you feel invalidated?
I am just trying to get an idea. Since it feels like if you stretch it too far, you reach a point where you just don't want the game to ever change.

basically the more I read the complain the more I feel that it's complaining for complaining, or whining for whining. They even don't know why they are unhappy with this change. "invalidate" "lies" are just ideas or concepts, this is not game related. When I read that actual mirrored gear will be obsolet, I just read dishonest people. Actual mirrored gear will still be overpowered vs 2.0 content. On top of that, stating "I spent 250 exalts to buy a dagger in 1.3, if I had wait 2.0 I would have bought a better one for the same price" is just plain wrong.
The only ones that can I understand to be frustrated are the one that cannot compete vs top crafters, the "small" crafters that won't be able to afford the insane cost of crafting in 2.0 with the higher mods.
