Question about heartbreaker.

Asked kripp bout this on stream, Says it would be perfect if that was shock but as is its a loss of like 500 life on high level charecters. Getting frozen isn't a big deal on high hp charecters (doesnt last long). So who would it be usefull on... Ci IR builds was what I thought... But then you're sacrificing 400 es on a helm which would be at least 1k es...
This is what makes it not as good as it seems. Its a great item but there are better. For me it does work in a build but that build needs a lot of uniques. You need covenant and shavrons and somethink like redbak. You need a build that has all the mana reservation talents and lots of es talents. You then run all the auras off your life and any left over flats on your mana. you then switch your covenent to shevrons. Perhaps CI EK or CI MACE with vaal pact etc. This build is worse now though because it sacrifices the 20% MORE es sheild. But as you can see niche and hard to find a "perfect spot" still its VERY good. |

It's really not. I'm assuming you're talking about boosting Wrath/Anger - +2 levels on Anger means roughly +10 flat fire dmg, which is scaled up by passives, supports, blah blah blah. I doubt this is more than a 100-300 DPS boost for the sort of characters you're talking about. Is that worth ~300-500 life and potential resists? Probably not, for most people. Again about the Frozen/Chilled stuff, that's negligible for life builds anyway. CI/Low Life builds are another story, but using this helm means a huge loss in ES for them - I honestly wouldn't use it on such a build myself.
I really think this thing is being over-hyped. It's a really cool unique, it does a lot of useful stuff, but the drawbacks (though they're not explicitly listed) are are quite extensive. I don't have a problem with it at all. |

I play ES/CI summoner witch and I prefer +2 minions helm myself. And ES, and intelligence, and mana, and resists, iiq/iir, my list continues.
I cba about frozen/chilled because it rarely happens when you are surrounded by army of minions. And if it happens that's why some flasks are for. See, this helm is not BiS for every single character, its good, but not for everyone. Not game breaking for sure, devs aren't idiots as some of you may think. Bullshit makes the flowers grow

The new aura helm is being made a much bigger deal than it really is - in two separate posts (now becoming three), I outlined some of the drawbacks, and there are yet still others - the benefits gained from upping an aura 2 levels is honestly marginal - a very small % increase to defense or offense. It's my opinion that the 8% reduced mana reserved is the stronger portion of this, as it potentially allows many builds to add a whole 'nother aura. In any case, it's definitely a cool helmet for some builds, but people are really over-emphasizing the wrong parts of it and assuming it's better than it actually is - you're not going to slap it on "any and every character" and always get better results than with a regular or other unique helmet.
