I came across an interesting thing a while back while I was graphing armour and evasion scaling. This one I think could definitely be of use to someone, though it's probably still a bit much for the main thread.

(awesome math snipped)

TL;DR version (I think):

If you don't use endurance charges and don't take very many armor nodes in the tree, then armor on gear is almost worthless to you.

If you do build for armor, then a reasonable amount of armor nodes and decent armor on gear can get you good physical mitigation at higher levels with the use of granite flasks.

I think what you've more formally proven here Zakaluka is that armor really is an all or nothing proposition. Sprinkling a little bit into your build, whether from nodes or gear, is ineffective and the effort is almost always best directed elsewhere. This is something many of us have known colloquially for a while now, but this puts some hard numbers behind it. Very well done.
This was a bit longer but I simplified it.

Unsmith, you're almost dead on. But the reason this rule is cool is it'll tell you exactly how far you need to go until armour is worth it.

A very slight distinction between proving something that's already vaguely understood, and putting actual numbers to it. Now you know how much %IAR you actually need with that +2 endurance build, for armour-stacking to be worthwhile.

so every item can have every mod? i dont think so
let me give an exemple. A helmet with 30movement speed.
cannot happen, right?^^
so what i wanted to know was which item can get which mod.
it makes no sense to have this table without knowing on what item can a specific mod appear...

Hey just wanted to thank you guys for posting this. I know what I'll be reading the next few days when I'm bored in class. I'm probably one of the few players that actually goes through and reads all the FAQs and wiki before I start playing a game :) Are the top posts updated with everything or should I read the whole thread as well?

I do try to keep the first post(s) updated.
As for the rest of the thread, since the thread is almost a year old, there is a lot of outdated information earlier in the thread which is now false. But the more recent pages should be still be mostly accurate.
