Map Drop Rate Is Shocking

Is the Map droprate affected by the party size?
I dont like the chaotic nature of 6 player parties, but i still run out of maps very quickly in a full party.

Now i got new maps and would like to do some of them solo, but i dont want to run out. can i do it or should i always go with a full party ?

As I stated above, I only run map all by myself. For some weird reasons, the map droprate seems decent to me. Usually get 1 or 2 maps for each map I do.

Most of the maps I used alters on it to get Rare/magic mobs mod, maze, and pack size, larger area, etc...

If you get a map, you really want to wait until you have some chisels so you can increase the quantity of items within that map. You'll also want to use your orbs to change them to magic, and then again to get new suffixes if they don't improve the drop amount even more. There are certain suffixes that are better than others. For example, increased map size or monster pack size with give you a better chance to get a map, since there's more to kill.

Another thing that I HIGHLY suggest is to get the item quantity support gem, and link it to your best attack. I can't stress how important all of these things are. If you do these things, you are almost guaranteed to find more maps within the maps that you use.

You may get unlucky and not find any maps, even if you do what I've suggested, but once you've built up a buffer of 10-20 maps, you can go a map or two without finding one, but the next map may drop 3-4.

Here's the update from the new maps that I got.

I only run maps 66+ and it seems that maps never run out for me.

Not sure why is it so rare for others, but for me its like this lol.

Maybe doing hard "blue" maps give a better shot. :/

no one's complaining about map drop rates inside of maps

the problem is map drop rate outside of maps. its absolutely horrendous.
My Two Cents:

Even in CB I didn't have map drop trouble. With roughly 40-50% Item Quantity and farming the most efficient area for my build, I would always get a map in 1-2 hours. And I always had a surplus of maps.

Now in OB, nothing has changed. I started with 2 maps I found from finishing Merc, and have since found 5+ lvl66 from farming City of Sarn solo with 50%+ Item Quantity.
Spoiler
I like city of sarn because its linear. Has a high volume of easy to gather/train mobs (beetles, undying outcast), and 1 unique. Takes 1-2 minutes doing a good S pattern gathering, then sweeping/leapslamming. With Quicksilver+25%MS, using the town and WP and end to refill/reset instance.

Currently sitting on 11 maps. Ranging from lvl66-70. I chisel higher level maps. And don't think twice about using a alch/chaos/alts/etc.. to roll a good juicy map. I've had 3 lvl67 maps drop from a 12% Quantity magic lvl66 map. But then again I have also had 0 maps drop from a 86% Quantity rare lvl69 map.

Its called RNG for a reason. But there are still ways to gain an upper hand.

PS. This is all hardcore league. If anyone wants to run some maps just add Backtwobasics

this is good if you want more item drops but it doesn't increase your chances of maps dropping

Apparently item quantity does not effect map drops inside maps (and so does party size to answere my own question now :)
Also using chisels on lvl 66 maps may not be the best use for them.

And why do people always say this crap about building up a good amount of maps before doing them. Thats total bollocks... the players max lvl what drops are considered is not 99 but 66 or 68 what means there is no reason not to use maps when you get them. The chances of building a map stack out of maps or a map you own is much higher then farming docks all day to grind them.

There is no difference between grinding a big stack of maps up front and grinding between the ones you get if they run out. The only difference is that you could get multiple maps from your first mapdrop and save yourself to grind outside of maps at all.

So if you are lvl 66+ and you get a map and you are capable to run it with good blue mods... just do it.
I have one Level 68 Character and one Level 69 character.

I have never seen a map.

:(

It doesn't matter if 95% of people get enough maps. This should not happen to any player.

Good news. You shouldn't enter maps until at least 71 anyways.
thats bullshit slayer, you can enter maps whenever you can manage not to die in em, dont see why 71 is some huge borderline.

also i got no problems with maps, cant see why other ppl do. I got two lvl66 maps while lvling in merciless, one dropped in felshire and other in cos.

since lvl 67 i run ONLY maps and getting 2-3 map drops per map.

(lvl 70 atm)
