Map Drop Rate Is Shocking

After mapping for 2 weeks, and saving up 8 level 70 maps I decided to try and move up to 71/72. All maps were fully chiseled and rared to 80+ quantity. I just got done doing my 5th map with 1 map drop out of all of them, a level 68. If I don't get any drops out of the next 3 I'm done with this game. This is complete nonsense.

and even if you do get map drops itl probably be 66/67 maps again

so retarded that you do high level maps but hardly ever get the same level or higher maps from them

Sounds about right.

Anyways back to my level 66 maps.

what level are you? what mods are you rolling?
Can only speak for myself here but I have had horrendous RNG/luck on map drops the last week(+a few days), our group went from a huge collection of 72/73/74/75 all the way back down to now 69/70 and rarely getting map drops from them.

Nothing has changed in terms of how we are running the maps/what mods we are using/amount of quantity on the maps.

All of the 80+'s on my friends list have also dropped down into the 68-70 map range, it seemed like at some point the map drops just completely changed for everyone.

Anyway all of this is highly demotivating, logging on to 'grind' lower maps and have absolutely no luck makes me want to stop playing, i've already started rolling an alt until things change and many others are following suit.
Couldn't you just buy maps after running so many?
Thats kinda of the breaking point at the moment... your not going to get any higher. There is much more content being added soon for higher levels which will fix this 'issue'. Relax.

I have been working on several mods projects in the past for different games. The way i would solve drop rate of maps would be to:

Introduce SOLO and GROUP maps.

Solo - as the name - suggest could only be run solo and would have a variety of mobs that can be more or less easier to defeat for a lone player. It would also have a little smaller drop rate of weapons/armour etc. Maps drop rate is not increased by the number of players in group.

Group maps on the other hand should introduce mobs with mechanics that are quite challenging for the group to kill. Boss with corpse explosion on which Kripparrian died with his wander is a good example of this. It would make sure those maps are challenging for a group that have bazzilion of auras, summoners, etc. Maps drop rate is increased (slightly at least) by the number of players in the group.

Problem with maps drop rate as i read it is that solo players have more chance of actually getting them. So it encourages to play the game solo instead of partying. My suggestion changes this. It will also be good for the economy because there are some that wants to play solo and those that play with groups so you can exchange them.

Have the map drop rates been stealth buffed?

I've been getting an average of one per map run today and got seven more in two runs.

I hope they have. It's obvious that low level maps should be plentiful, especially when there's not much else you can do at high levels.

EDIT: Just did another level 66 map and got three more maps. I definitely feel like droprates have been buffed.

I do believe you are right. I've noticed a huge increase in the number of drops I've been getting in the last 12 hours or so. While they're still mostly same-level maps, higher level maps are dotted in there too. It doesn't even matter to me that most of the maps are same-level as at least it removes the fear of your map pool "drying up". This was a large concern for many players before. At least now it seems feasible to progress towards the higher level maps by grinding lots of lower level ones.

On a side-note that I think is probably related but perhaps not intended - the amount of currency I've been getting per run also seems to have gone up significantly... Anyone else notice this?
