normally, a one handed sword has attack range of 6, 2h axe and sword have 7 and rest have either 5 or 6(unarmed is 4) with 2 3white prismatics, I have range = 18, and with daresso's salute and a passive called master of arena, I'm able to get 4 more range and reach 22. with all the increased area passives and buffs from gem I can get, There's totally around 150% ~200% increased area without 23Q gems or enhance gem. so 2.5 * 22, I have around 50~60 range which is 8~10 times the usual size hence the super duper big area. If you're not able to get 3 white socket prismatic eclipse, 2 * 2 white sockets will still give you 40~ 50 range which is still around 7 times the usual size how i got the sword

I bought these 2 in a 3 month league for 1exa each, people had no use for them and wanted to sell them as toys. I would trying to get 2 white sockets which will still give a lot of range. and will work very good as well
Somebody tested with 50 prismatic eclipse and got 2 * 2white out of those 50, so it shouldn't be that hard to obtain since prismatic eclipse isn't really expensive. a 2 white eclipse should be around 1~2 exas imo Three white socket are too hard to obtain, what can I do?

Don't worry, even with 2* 2 white sockets and without daresso's salute, you can still have a pretty huge radius your radius is going to be bigger than here in this video http://youtu.be/5NtaOHENuQc  Gems setup (2.2)

for 5L, use Cyclone, LGOH Blood magic, increased aoe and choice for either faster attck or wed
For 6L use all 6 gems. Swapping faster attack for Enhance will grant larger radius on your alphas, use enlighten, haste, wrath and anger on your boots or gloves, use herald of thunder, curse on hit, elemental weakness and herald of fire then use the 2* 3 white and another 4L for leap slam and fire golem on my gloves, i use vengence + lgoh + life leech and increase aoe as an def mech build Budget!

The basic gear you'll need is 2* 2white prismatic, which will cost you around 5exas alpha's is `1~2 exa, 5L carcass is 2~3exa. then grab rings and belts with WED res hp gloves with res+ hp wake of destruction is another exa total cost is around 10 EXA, and you'll be fine running 78 maps defense mech

This is probably the only melee build in this game that uses Range and mobility as defense mechanism I am able to dodge monster's attack while attacking them in range. while facing monsters, I try to run around and avoid all attacks, that's why I grabbed all those move speed nodes still,I get hit once in a blue moon, so some res and hp is still necessary. (I get hit less than 5 times total in some map runs) you will also have a decent block chance damage

prismatic eclipse really doesn't offer much dps,
so I had to look for dps somewhere else, so far what I came up with is sort of like a elemental buzzsaw with heralds and wrath and anger and lots of elemental / wed on rings and gloves and wed passives currently at around 8.5k dps at lv 73, although it doesn't seem much, but the taming and constant shocking gives a big dps boost. 70% increased with shock and burning Also, I'm constantly hitting, never have to stop to attck, so map clearing speed is extremely good!!! pros

The radius is AWESOME
Your screen looks AWESOME range and mobility, seldom gets hit, hence the survivability end game viable (probably even uber) LGOH, low dmg high hits, not afraid of reflect maps (Can run most mods except for blood magic) cons

prismatics eclipse with white socket, alpha's howl and carcass jack are musts. Daresso's salute is a plus. The Taming is also pretty decent with all the wed and res for boots, wake of destruction is a very good choice (and also provide very good early game dps) as for the rings, gloves and belt, just look for high wed, accuracy, elemental damage, hp and res. (old)

Heralds dont is aura so you dont take +2 levels to them, you take only reduced mana reserved, but if you put your hatred to your howl you got bigger reduc mana reserved and +2 level to hatred too .
