" No way. Ranger OP but CoC wanders are really OP. The highest DPS build in game is Shatter Chucks CoC LL wander @ 2m DPS. EVEN with bad gear 400K is done. CoC is ridiculous. Crit is too. " i do not expect any nerfs to CoC this gem destroyed and obliterated any chance for balanced casters. any new spell cannot be too good because you can cast 100 of these per minute for free with CoC. so new spells are meh or are deliberately dumbed down (ball lightning no shotgun). just because of CoC this gem is with us for over a year now. nothing had changed besides % here and there. its main 'power' - LOTS of spells without mana costs and cast speed restrictions - is still with us. making spells cost mana or making these at least affect barrage/TS/whatever cost would cut some absurd situations but.. streamers like it so no way it will ever get fixed |

" I made a CoC char once, it was beyond ridiculous so I scrapped it. A bullshit gem, but I agree crit is the biggest offender, you shouldn't be able to get even a whiff of capping crit (this ain't no dragon age 2), and crit multi bonuses shouldn't even exist except as a tradeoff implicit on rapiers, you get lower chance than daggers have but higher damage. In that case base crit multi could be raised to 200% or something, but that would mean monster crit would have to go up too and that would suck. There's a nice guideline to fair rules - every time you want to check if some mechanic makes sense, just transfer it to the other side, say, give a monster 500% crit multi and see firsthand what kind of shit that is. But, as Sid said, I don't expect a change to any of those either, actually, I'm a little afraid they'd make it worse. ^ It's a bit too late to change the presence of crit strike chance and crit multi in the game. That is why I am in favor of mechanically changing the rules for weapon types behind the scenes via "hidden" global damage effectiveness, critical strike effectiveness, crit multi effectiveness, etc (so that global bonuses are more or less effective than their stated value).. Such that choice of weapons is a trade off between greater flat damage per hit, critical strike chance, and critical strike multi.
I think it would go a long way into breathing better balance between the disparity of weapon types, especially when 2H are so far behind. Devolving Wilds

But I guess they could do what they did to item quantity, halve every crit multi bonus in the game and remove the support gem. I think that could work. Or just be a man and include this in patch notes:
Crit multi is now capped at 250%. All current mechanics stay the same but the cumulative.value cannot exceed 250. But this requires to man up. |
