AUS server is horrible - WinMTR report
" Yup, same symptoms here. One thing i have been doing is running WinMTR on the instance Server/IP found in the client.txt folder: open command prompt: 1. join the instance 2. run the following after changing the locaiton to your GGG folder: C:\Users\ben>find /i "Connecting" "C:\Games\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exi le\logs\Client.txt" Run WinMT on the last IP - rerun the command after you change zones - youll get a different server each time. e.g: 119.82.146.53 2014/08/30 18:07:32 92 [INFO Client ] Connecting to instance server at 119.82.146.45:6112 2014/08/30 18:07:36 92 [INFO Client ] Connecting to instance server at 119.82.146.53:6112 From 1 - 3am this morning i had no problems playing. just happened again. this one was a full lag out. Had to esc -> exit to login screen. Logged in straight away without waiting.

I have the exact same problem. From when i wake up at around 9am until 5-6pm poe is fine and i sit at 40-50ping consistently. At 5-6pm it becomes completely unplayable ( this is nz time by the way ).

This issue looks to be more widespread than just aussie fellas. I connected to the american server earlier and had the same issue. Also, just found these threads all reporting the same issues we have been doing here:

Unfortunately, not all connection issues are related. There's a pretty staggering amount of possibilties as to what could be causing disconnections. If you're connecting to the US server and are experiencing connection issues, it's pretty likely that there's something going on more generally with your connection. I'd recommend making a post for yourself, and include a WinMTR report containing at least 500 sent packs so that we can look at what's going on. | |

So it's evening again and the lag is getting interesting. Once I'm in an instance I'm getting a constant flutter between 32ms and 50ms. nothing too bad and certainly easily playable.
As soon as I portal to a town however, lag spikes rockets to over 300 and then the game just seems to lose connection entirely and eventually the game drops out. i can reconnect immediately with no problems and as long as I leave town in the first few seconds I can play quite happiloy until I have to go back to town again. WinMTR trace that was running in the background the whole time this was going on - all looks pretty good

take a look into WTFast proxy. I used to use it to connect to games hosted back home in europe when i came here to get a better connection. I never even thought about trying to use it for POE as i was connecting to australia i thought it would be OK.
I think the issue is with vodafones network. With WTFast you connect into their network and get the best connection possible. I just re-subscribed to WTFast for 2 days to test it out. My first server is their new zealand server, and the 2nd server is the AUS2 server. This means i connect from home into their NZ server, and use their connection to go to their AUS2 server, which then connects me to the AU login game. I have just been running around ledge whilst connected to WTFast and have had 0 lagout/freeze problems, and the ping hasnt gone above 66. Without WTFast i am getting pings from 66 ->200 ->300 ->60 ->1000+, and then full lag outs. Just posting here as you may want to try it and see if it helps you. With the free/trial version you can only select the first server in the chain - so chose the NZ1 server. www.wtfast.com I will probably re-subscribe to this ongoing now that it appears to have helped my connection to the game much more stable, but I will test it for the next 2 days before resubbing. hope this helps. cheers and good luck. | |

i've been connecting to Aus and Sg servers and both having lag and timeout issues.. they caused me 2 deaths trying to play in these awful connections..
please do something about it |
