" I've done Atziri, and I've done Uber once with a friend (quite a bit of gear+gem swaps, obviously). I don't find it interesting, though. And it involves a whole lot of running for my life :D Both of these (Uber even more so) are about player skill more than DPS or HP. You have a minimum, but I know people with 4K Life doing Uber. Can't say I'm any good at it, but I don't practice Atziri. With master Crafting, this is a 395 PDPS mace. With a few divines, this is over 400 PDPS... I'm sorely tempted to start a new char to use it :D 402 PDPS atm, pretty sure it can reach 428 with perfect Divine/Master. " Nice! I had to spend all my savings to buy one after 2 failed corruption attempts (luckily the attempts didn't decrease the quality of the gems). " What made you go with pierce? Think you'll stick with that? I've been freezing for funsies lately with Frostbite + Herald of Ice + Increased Area of Effect + Reduced Mana. I found that when I use Herald of Ice, I actually get more damage with a fully leveled Added Cold Damage than I do with Faster Projectiles, plus Added Cold gives 10% chance to freeze at 20% qual. I've been thinking about taking Freeze on the skill tree for an additional 5% chance to freeze. I don't know if Herald of Ice ultimately does more damage than Herald of Ash with this setup (the tooltip dps is slightly lower but I do get explosion damage that Ash doesn't give), I just like seeing enemies turn into snowballs. Chance to Pierce is proving GREAT. And I get to use Haste 21, which makes it feel less like wasted currency.
EDIT: To clarify, not using the gem. That one SUCKS. I use the points on the tree. EDIT2: EK 21/20 is in my possession. DPS = 37780. I can't get much more than 5k without more levels. On the other hand, I have enough mana for a level 24 AA (and enough to give Herald of Ice one support gem). Hey guys, I've been talking to Cantrip for a bit now and we talk a lot about EK and things that would work, we play pretty much opposite ends of EK as crit and non-crit, therefore I'm going to post my thoughts and setup for crit EK.
I currently use pledge of hands with EB/AA/MoM/IR with dual curse, vaal pact and herald of ice. I'm using a 5l pledge of hands with EK/Faster Casting/Added Fire Damage/Increased Critical Damage/Faster Projectiles, for the 6th link I would add empower. This build is really strong not only because of the damage output, its actually fairly tanky too, with best in slot pieces I imagine it would be incredible. I currently have 65k dps with charges up, 77k with charges and flask. I use curses (warlords mark/assassins mark) for leech and power/endurance charges as I believe you're able to get higher dps this way. I prefer to grab MoM on the tree rather than using a cloak of defiance as the life on this character isn't great and a lot of the items used have no life on them, I'm also around the area on the tree and it feels wasted to not do it. I run a level 15AA at the moment but I'm sure with the right gear and stuff you could run a higher one. Reflect is an issue with the build straight up, either phys or elemental, vaal pact and MoM help a lot with this but it is still pretty sketchy without the right items.
