why blood magic node?

^ With Mortal Conviction & Aura nodes on the passive tree, you can get auras that usually reserve 60% of your mana down to 15% or lower.

From here, you can cast your utility skills like (curse of choice)/Convocation/etc. on life. You can't cast a spell if you don't have enough life, same as if you were casting off mana.

To regain life, you can use a Divination Distillate or a life potion, ideally one with "of Animation" so you can heal your minions in a pinch.

I'm using a similar build as OP and it's working great.

Just noticed the replies. Checked the duplicate on the witch forum I posted, but hadn't checked back here yet. I actually don't have issues with regen. I have about 500 regen when I drop my rejuvenation totem, despite only having 5.7k energy shield (low es on gloves, amulet, helm, and none on boots). Shav's ring is an excellent suggestion and if I were to go full out with survivability gear (max es, int, regen), then I would definitely like to have a Shav's (tackling Atziri would almost mandate it). As far as life goes, I have 79 life remaining after aura reserves, which is enough to cast Convocation, Flesh Offering, Rejuvenation Totem, Enfeeble, and Vaal Skeletons. If I lose a zombie, I just pause for a moment, turn off Hatred, pop a flask, summon a zombie, pop a flask again, then turn Hatred back on. Granted, I do have to alternate between flask use and casting, but with 3 life flasks, I seldom run out. As long as there are mobs around, my flasks continuously renew. I updated the original post to show my current links, gem levels (added quality and began leveling a few), and flasks. Hope this thread helps some folks.
