People are going bananas over the ES buffs

I don't understand why people care so much about the ES buffs? The ES buffs where needed because CI itself was broken compared to Shavvs low life, so CI needed something to make it viable again. If your low-life you don't have a ton of ES anyway so you won't get a huge ES increase with these new nodes anyway, though you will get some. I think it was mainly aimed at giving ES Fortress builds (CI) a competitive edge against its low-life counterpart. Just my theory

" it was shavs LL that needed to be toned down, not CI brought up to the 'broken' level and at this point CI ES levels for medium gear (300ES and like 600ES armor) are double of that what life builds can get with similar gear.. it doesnt look healthy |

If you put on your full plate mail, and I throw hundreds of toothpicks at you, you'll basically not feel it. If someone catapults a whole tree at you, don't expect the Armour to prevent as much of the damage. |

As a buffer? It is the same For a leech based char? It is the same Sure, pots wont work.. oh my! Difference is that in 1.2 it is significantly easier to get 100es |

maybe by buffing (and adding) ES passives they want to make CI possible for wider range of players, allowing reaching solid HP with not-so-good gear.. Or to make CI possible at early levels
this could also result in nerfing base ES of highest level items, while buffing low level items a bit IGN: Eric_Lindros

With the new life flask buff where you can get close to 1k per seething charge, I still think life isn't worse compare to ci with similar budget . Those new shiny flask nodes certainly won't hurt either.

They definitely need to nerf life value by a bit because flask though (which they did just barely, and for some build not at all) since seething is essentially just addition of your total life due to the instantaneous of it. And we have a new flask tier above hallowed/sanctified, while hallowed is already buffed twice as b4. Huge additional life buffer in the form of flask. |

you probably wont need these items
12 life per level + some life from gear (non perfect CI gear WILL have some random life rolls) is multiplied by %life that CI chars WILL pick from the tree. why? because several ES nodes are ES/life hybrids and it is unavoidable to accumulate significant %life without even trying |

" The other difference is that the life builds have life AND evasion/armor. An ES build will either not have those or will be giving up some of their potential ES in order to get it. |
