People actually complain about the Atziri? If not for her you would still be doing Dominus split runs for months until you get one piece of gear that worth more than ten ex.

At first you farm sarn and docks for midnights. You dont sell noon/dawn/dusk pieces. You sell midnight sets 12:9ex or 12:10ex and you spend money on packing your farmer with as much mf as you can. You run these lesser pieces and sell midnights. Having mf on runner may result in occasional rare unique drop or just an additional income from doing chaos recipe.

When you have enough money you gear up your own Atziri farmer. From now on you stop farming midnights and you farm Atziri. You sell hopes and do whatever you like with profits, you buy uber gear you want or you can try yo make your own uber farming character or you just hoard exalts (it was much profitable before, and is still going to be much profitable in new leagues when market is not flooded with normal atziri drops)

There is no other way to make five to ten exalts per day in PoE with pretty much no investment and people are still complaining. Just stop...

The point is tho, that it's an unsustainable business. That's why it's a pyramid scheme. In a later stadium in the game everyone will be buying hopes and nobody selling them.

In practice, as long as there is no other way to make such a huge profit there will be people running corrupted zones. It is like saying that flipping items will stop being profitable because people will stop selling good items for low prices but in this sate of the game it will never happen. Never.

I am more worried about the patch and how it will affect uber runners, we might find ourself in a situation when nobody buys hopes anymore because no one can do uber.

Do you think you'd be better off if there wasn't something that poor people can farm effectively that rich people demand? You would not be.

The Atzi farming pyramid is in fact a classic case of gains from trade through comparative advantage. Farming Vaal fragments with uber-geared characters is inefficient because they could do much harder content with better rewards - there is an opportunity cost. Farming Atzi with poor characters is inefficient because they just can't hack it until they can afford better gear. By forming an economic 'pyramid' through trade, both groups of players cooperate to generate wealth more efficiently and are all better off.
