Authotkey script to buy in stacks !
Hard-coding mouse coords.. wut
Can be made more elegant with loops, and I think you can generalize the position of inventory by a certain ratio of the game window to make it more portable to other resolutions. |

" Assuming that GGG would be okay with something like this is of course foolish, but again, there's a huge difference between this (which is a macro) and a bot (which reads game memory, makes decisions, and automates play). You can do this sort of thing with keyboard and mouse software. Not only does it only send hardware commands to the computer, it's in most cases indistinguishable from genuine hardware commands anyways, so good luck discerning between somebody taking the time to tediously click through this process normally and just doing it with a macro. |

" Precedent has already been set in Closed Beta when it came to people interacting with vendors and "3rd party tools". If you want to read the entire thread, This is a bot. Additional information was also given in the Q&A with Kripparrian. Specifically, as long as you are doing things by hand, unassisted by any 3rd party tools, you are fine. Otherwise, you are working towards a ban. "Automation" is the key thing they are against. Last edited by drew_benton#6630 on Feb 7, 2013, 5:54:11 PM

heh, saw this for the first time yesterday when a guildmate used AHK to do the stat rolls for her when creating her character for Wizardry Online.
It took her three hours, but she got 58 extra points to allocate when most people only get 7-9. |

If a script or macro requires sleeps/delays to work, then it's automation in my book.
Just my opinion, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. I also believe that one ingame action per human action (personal) rule should be followed. Then again, we're just talking about buying crap from vendors faster. It's purely a quality of life thing, but it's a slippery slope... consider races. " The way I see it, if it doesn't work without a human at the keyboard, it's not automation. Pressing a button to buy some scrolls: not automation. Setting a character up to buy scrolls for you while you're away: automation. That of course is my own personal opinion, and in the end all that matters is what the people who make the rules think. |

I can't really blame anybody for using something like this (yet). I had like 10 stacks of wisdom scrolls before I decided to trade up my currency to use less stash space. I found no way to buy vendor items short of dragging the item into my inventory (archaic) and it wouldn't accept the transaction without dragging it to an empty inventory slot, leading to 20 stacks of 1 currency item in my inventory (ridiculous). Eventually I got it done, but it certainly was a pain in the ass. I'd say this should be fixed/improved asap, but I think there are bigger fish to fry.

GGG obviously does not intend mass-buy from vendors as that has some effect on the value of currency items. This is bannable. Do not use it. It is a script to convert large sums of currency into other kinds of currency. If you do it by hand, it's fine, but that mechanical cost of effort is SUPPOSED to exist, at least as of 0.10.0.
