Are we all gemlings?
We use skill gems, they give us "powers"
Are the gems used to augment gemlings (by maligaro, malachai, piety, etc...) the same or similar to the skill gems that we are using? |

They're the exact same gems, yes. However, the gemlings surgically implanted them in their skin - we're just holding and wearing equipment with the gems in them.

We are definatly similar to gemlings in some ways but I'd say we are our own breed of creature. It woild be interesting if in the future we could corrupt our characters into gremlins.

We currently slot our gems into items. The gemlings seemed to have bonded it to directly onto their bodies which may produce a more powerful effect, but at a great cost.
It's definitely an interesting and compelling idea to pursue and offer in a future expansion. |

" Absolutely. I'd be 100% on board with this idea. To expand on it a bit further, you could have certain gems impart powerful effects in relation to their normal ones. You could also have it grant stats too (as listed under Optional below). I kind of imagine only having one gem of each color to be used at a time in this way though (like your character has one red, blue, and green socket each), and I'm not sure how support gems could/would interact with it. Anyway, these are just some prospective ideas. --- High Clarity: 150% normal clarity effect, but at the cost of 50% reduction in your total health regen. (Optional) Also adds 3 INT per gem level, but subtracts 5 hp per gem level. This would be fun for certain glass cannon builds, and would be interesting to see if they would allow it with CI builds (OP or OK?). --- Raging Frenzy: Frenzy charges do not expire unless actively consumed. Endurance/Power charges hard capped at 1. (Optional)Double effect of Frenzy bonuses, but adds 1 to base mana cost per gem level. --- Berserk Cleave: Arc and range of Cleave increased by 20%, but character is also 20% bigger (larger hit box means easier to be hit by things). (Optional) Damage increased by 10% per gem level, but lose 1.5% resist all per gem level. --- Anyway, these are just a few loose ideas. Don't take them too literal, and don't take it to mean there would only exist these three gem augments, but do understand what they attempt to mean, and how they could fit into certain existing builds, or what new ones you could build around them. =D Last edited by AlbinosaurusRex#6133 on Jul 18, 2014, 10:59:58 PM
