Is the BiS pursuit enjoyable for you?

The biggest mistake they did with mirrors was to let an item get copied more than once.
Something that I wash never came into the game was eternal orbs.

If you are looking for wealth you can always play the legacy speculation market. In mid August there will be more unique legacy nerfs and if you have the right ones... lotta exalt orbs! I am throwing into Lighting coils and Searing Touch this round.... (was able to keep the prices higher in the 4 month leagues)

I know buying unique items that could get nerfed inflates the prices for everyone else out there... but learn to trade. How ease will I get my BIS items?

I gave up long time ago on ever droppin BIS items or really great items like shav's,soul taker, mjolner, etc. They just wont ever drop for me and certainly not if you want it to drop. I'm not sure why im even playing holding on that tiny sliver of hope that maybe some day or year one of those items will drop.

This is one of the reasons I'm trying to make the switch to HC. People had already crafted BiS armor and weapons halfway through ambush. SC feels like a huge rat race.

Long live the new Flesh
Standard player here.

I play standard most likely for one reason, because that's how all the games I've played before worked. I've never played permadeath games, and I don't have much interest in them. I prefer to create something, something that sticks around until I get bored with it (not when I am deemed "unworthy").

As far as BiS goes, I don't want to get even close to BiS in any slot, ever. For one, I play whenever I feel like it, which doesn't end up being very often (just finally got a lvl 80 after ~1 year), so I wouldn't want to spend all this effort to get something twice as good as an item 1/100 of the cost. Especially not when the cheaper of the two is still a good item.

BiS, Legacy, faceroll builds, none of that matters to me at all. At the end of the day, all I want is to be able to handle all the content I care about, and to have fun doing it. And for me, fun involves a challenge. If I had full BiS, then the challenge would probably go away; so why put so much effort into removing my fun.

It would be nice to have a 6l that isn't Tabula though....

Good thing we can use the HC chars in SC after they died once. makes HC not less HC but also makes the time lvling up such a char less pointless.

And i kinda agree with you, i dont go for the msot broken OP item at all, i got 1 6L and i dont even have the lvl for it yet with the char i wanna use it nor did i craft it, i got it as a gift from someone extremely nice.

I never make 1 skill aura stacking unique build chars at all either, those are lame and i can only imagine how they get boring fast.
Im closed beta i had a mirrioed chest. That 6 link Vall regal , it was 6 linked with 1200 ES , i can't remember it's name. I worked on that crit dagger shadow from the start of that reset . i got the chest about 3 weeks before the server whipe.

Not suprisingly to me i was happy the item was whiped .

Most would be pissed at lossing a item like that , however i have been in this situation before and was not suprised .

Having BiS items in a game like PoE makes it boring, you no longer have anything to do. And u are a god vs the content. PoE is not the only game like this in fact most games are like this.

WAAYYyyyy back when in Everquest i found a glitch witch ( being the "hardcore" gamer that i am ) i explotied the shit out of to basicaly make me the richest player in the game. I had the best home , the best gear , and i could buy whatever i wanted no matter what the sellers prise was . The game got stale and boring and i soon quit.

In EvE online i found a glitch whare A officer rat got stuck in a Glitched off grid safe spot i had made ( i don't know how it happend i tryed to recreat it 1000 times but could not ) So at server reset ( 4 AM in the moring to me ) i would wake up log on to EvE Kill the fresh spawn Officer spawn and colect my super rare and valubale loot ( even more valubale made by the fact that i had a 100 % strangale hold on the market for this officers items ) . However at this point in time i knew how dangrous this could be . Of course i cashed in for a long time on it U can never have to much curency in EvE however it made me feel like the risk was removed from combat since when i died i could replace what i lost for basicaly nothing. I used the curency i had made in outlandish pvP Risking very dangrous hot drops in pimped out ships till i was poor again. Was a good time but beging poor again was fun aswell made me reconect with the game and have fun with it all over again.

What im trying to say is that ... the grass is always greener on the other side , till u get thare then you miss the old green trail that got u thare.

It's not the destination , it's the journey

Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.

My question to you guys is, is that one of the reasons you guys play softcore? To pursue BiS in every slot? Seems to me like there's a mirror worthy item for every slot that everyone even knows by name (I even know 'Loath Bane' now) and everybody seeks to gear up with those. Doesn't that take away from the fun of the game, like finding crazy loot and equipping it and killing shit to find upgrades?

This happens after cruel?
There is a SFL in POE...it's called play by yourself and be lonely.

Or maybe party with others that claim to be SF only...and trust them on their word that they are only SF.

Easy as that...I don't see what the fuss is about...SF ppl are honest right?

And edit to why some play SC:
1)Desync (you will wind up on SC there eventually because of it, why fight it..even the best do and ppl lol of vids watching it)

2)Insane CPU demands...not everyone can keep up with the particle lag spam and poor optimization unless they invest at least one kidneys worth towards their setup

3)It a good way to avoid raging and setting your g/f and her cat on fire from an off-screen death-shot

The cat was good though, with a little BBQ sauce...

-Time to be funny. The world needs funny right now! Warning: "Might" get you muted.

25 Exalts...oh God my stupidity stuck! Now onto 25 Divines...

I definitely dont find trying to get BiS enjoyable, if I can kill shit up to 78 maps, then what else do I want?

Nothing at all really, I'd get bored with BiS for every slot
R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.
I play softcore because i love to push my characters limits. If i roll a crazy 130 IQ map i will try it while HC players wouldn't even touch such maps with a 10 feet pole. I also like to try and test new stuff and SC makes it much easier.
