Do Bows need arrows?
Two-handed weapons can have more sockets than one-handed weapons. So it works out. It's still a balance that's being played with though.

" I would imagine that the range advantage of bows over 2h swords/stave/etc is being taken into account as well. |

'course, since I can't help but keep hearing about Marauders going to be able to spec into two two-handers, it gets a little iffy to not have sockets on quivers.

" Yeah. Bows deal less damage than comparable melee weapons. " I'm going to bring this up with Chris. I don't see any way that something like that can be balanced. Forum Sheriff

while realistic, having to stack arrows is just idiotic in hack and slash games.
in diablo 2 bowazon (and some random builds for other classes) was really underpowered compared to many just, because you had to: 1. make trips to town more often than most classes/builds 2. less charms 3. less inventory space in general for actual items - you either go to town often or throw it on the ground = either less gold income or more hassle so yeah that d2 mechanic didnt really fit hack and slash games. |
