Maximum passive max resist?

What's the highest max resist that can be passively (tree auras etc, nothing requiring frequent casting / clicking) maintained?

75 + 4 (2/1/1) from tree + X (10?) from auras + 5 legacy saffel + 2 (chest & amulet) vaal corruption, am i missing anything? that's already 86 without including auras, around 96 with, is it possible to get to 100 somehow?

You can get 13 from flasks, but permanent 100% all resists can't be done with gear/tree/skills.

Without Saffell's, aura builds can get up to 100% with flasks.

They can even go further taking Marauder max, using Saffells/Rise and using corrupted jewellery.

0% from passive skill tree. Impossible to acquire any of the nodes while obtaining all aura nodes.

5% from legacy Saffel's. New maximum of 90%.

10% from flasks. Requires three flask slots. Hard to maintain flask charges and maximum elemental resistance due to charge consumption. New temporary maximum resistance of 100%.

Not worth it, not my a long shot.

Relies on flask uptime but crit dagger with Surgeon's flasks OpieOP.

Usually the last 1% to reach 100% is not worth it and the route to Unwavering is cut away.

The max without flasks and doing it passively is of course ->

10% from auras.
2% from EA.
2% from Mara.
5% from Legacy Saffell's.
2% from corrupted Ammy and Chest.
96% all res.

That requires a crit build, which is near impossible to do when maximizing auras in such a fashion.

This also means that three of your flasks slots are then resistance flasks. That only leaves two flask slots, which a crit build should be using for Granite and Jade flasks. This means no room for a Quartz or Quicksilver flask.

The problem with that is it doesn't come into play until ~93. That's impossible, so it isn't a workable build.

The only possible way to play that is if you respec into it, and if you've played till 93 you might as well keep what the build already was.

True haha, but you can't really be 100% immune to all sources of elemental damage from the minute you create your character :P

Only real place where I know it's applicable is Uber Atziri and that is an endgame fight that requires serious speccing into and gearing for.

Yeah, she's going to be extremely easy for my aura character.

All I need is a Rise of the Phoenix and level 20 auras and I'll be good. 100% fire resistance will make my AA heal me while she uses fire.

Oh, wait, this isn't Diablo II. Damn.

Except that takes even more currency than the previously stated ideas.

I don't dare use a Vaal Orb. I'd rather trade VOs for 2 chaos each than use it and throw away a level 20 gem that I "CoD prestiged" and leveled back to 20 with max quality.

There is little risk in corrupting one of the purity Auras. Most people don't care about quality on them (summoners are the exception) and there is no Vaal purity (yet anyway). Worst case is you have to level it up again from 19 to 20, which costs you only time. But the upside is huge if you get a level 21 gem.
