Lol. People already pulled the POE is dead thing as they did with D3. Both games are sitll around and GGG at least doesnt bullshit around with new acts for 4 or 50 bucks. And there will be 10 acts.

Dirk... you really don't read do you. I didn't say PoE is dead. I gave it another three years or so. There wont ever be 10 acts. You can take that to the bank.

I really hope that we will see 10 Acts. Also the Support of this game did not go down, as far as I can tell. More and more players discover PoE as an alternative cause its F2P, and I believe 80% of the people who stick with PoE say its better than any other current ARPG. But, a new Act would be really nice now... It's been a while, right? :D

Well, you said it without saying it. You dont think POE will exist for long. And it will do just that.

I hope they keep at least 2 difficulties. I love multi difficulty games.

But the difficulty system in most loot arpg's is not really a 'real' one, I'll explain:

In PoE you start with normal, no choice of easy or hard and when you finish the game, it isn't actually finished, story wise it is but not progression wise.

A 'real' system of choice of difficulty would have you select it at the beginning and when the game is over, it really is over

I'm not saying that PoE should have such system but simply that it doesn't have multi difficulties, it just repeats its content harder

Though, we are kinda getting off topic, the point of my thread is what would happen when they release act 5,6 and 7.

It has the potential.

PoE would be such an amazing game if GGG wasnt constantly getting in its way.

I wonder what they will do with the resistance penalty do...

I hope they remove it, allowing more valid builds and item options to players.

Or reduce the numbers on the resistance tiers a bit to compensate and then remove it.

Not sure why, but my gut tells me it's quite limiting on item options.

Peace,

Ah right, I forgot about that, resistance penalties are divided by difficulties, which means they'll either rebalance resists completely if they remove a difficulty or change the system altogether

IMO it won't be the lack of demand/$ that stops the 10 Act plan, but rather developer burnout.

Still plenty of markets to POE to fully expand into. It already has a strong and dedicated player base who will continue to come back to the game for years into the future. D2 still has players today and was strong for 10 years.

If a MMO like "Age of Conan" (which I enjoyed FTR) that flopped at launch, and has been lowly populated since released 6 years ago, is still going... then surely POE has plenty of legs left. :)
