Only Summoning gems allowed in pants and only summoning stats on them. Summoners are the only pants wearers in PoE. :)

I figured this would get some chuckles. Of course my paranoia kept me thinking that people would take it too seriously and rage post and I would have to explain myself for the next twenty pages to get the thread back on track...

Something that just occured to me though:
Why the fuck do we wear belts if we don't wear pants?

In response to the last idea: I like the idea of minions just absorbing damage from you. It would work great if it was similar to Mind Over Matter:

Damage is taken from Minon life first
Minions have 50% reduced max life
Reserves 30% Life

The way it would work is by basically trading some of your own life and some of your minions life for the ability to gain a true meat shield. If the player were to take 5K damage, instead the damage would be distrubuted evenly among the minions. If th eplayer only had a few out, and they only had a total of 4000 HP, then they would all die and the player would take 1000 damage. IF they have a combinied total of 10K life (lets say 5 minions woith 2K life each) then each one would drop to 1K life. The minions would still take other damage as well, so this would create some interesting fights, especially with bosses since your minions will die MUCH more often now.

I think that this could work well to help address the big issue I see with being a pure summoner(mobs bypassing your minions). Maybe the passive would be re-worked to make it so that ONLY pure summoners would take it. Possibly give the player -30% max resists but remove the -minion max life part. Or make it like the totme passive and the player can deal no damage themselves.

Reserve some or our life and not be able do deal damage with ourselfs would be enough i guess. Make the minions HP get low would hurt us much with those two another "costs", and they look pretty good.

Let's say something around 20-30% HP reserved and not be able to deal damage with our skills like the totem node.

I would hunt with -50/60% Max HP if i know my summons would take some of the damage for me, for sure. (like 75% max damage reduction, maybe more with a new unique (that would cut even more HP, and add an extra 10-15% cap, dunno).

EDITED: The new UNIQUE could be an awesome glove that we still don't have (as unique for summoners). :>

EDITED2: indeed using a belt but don't wear pants is weird hahaha.

I feel that stacking life reserves is not the way to go if auras were made less mandatory for summoners to maintain decent spectre and guardian survival. Mana reserve can be used for these passives because a summoner should not be stacking life for themselves but on their minions. Remember we want our minions in the battle not us if we can help it. So if we got damage reduction like this it would be nice to have it without stacking every life node we can reach. Instead mana would be better because it would be reserving our resource of resummons where many supported summons are mana consuming. I can only summon my 4l spectres and 5l zombies at the moment by turning off two auras first and then do one at a time.

Also, probably make the passive disable MoM or reduce its effectiveness with this passive. I can see these two things making epic tanks if left untouched. I could see people taking ever minion life supported node and the two and then using the rest for their actual damage skills. Add CwDT combos to the mix most likely EC and IC, overcapped resists possibly and armour or ES and we got some pretty fight hungry tankers.

Also, make summons attract devourers and what not, i still don't understand why they only come above ground when your character runs over them and not your minions. Did we do something personal to them in order to get singled out? =/

Also i don't agree with the "splitting" damage suggestions over minions/summoners. It would make the vitality aura mandatory and incredibly strong.

I still believe a better CC for enemy's resulting in a "creep battle" that does not involve the minion master himself would be far more appropriate.

But well, the AI is what it is, not sure if this can actually ever happen.
