Hey.
I've been using your build in Hardcore Talisman league, and I like it very much so far.
Just wanted to say thanks for the guide.

Im currently lvl 76, and I just started using blood magic and running 7 auras. I still don't have shavs, but I think Solaris Lorica is fine for now.

I saw you debated the IIQ vs IIR in your post. Since IIQ is hard to come by in the new temporal leagues, would you still recommend the Goldwyrm boots for the IIQ, at the loss of 100 iirc?

Thanks again for the good guide, I love playing it in my grp.

I think you are the first one to try it in HC, good luck there!

About your question, the answer is "it depends".

New leagues having access to less IIQ just makes it even more valuable. If you already have high amounts of IIR (300+) but 0 IIQ, IIQ becomes much more effective. I recommend goldwyrm on SC talisman.

But there is the HC thing: I've heard HC has a unique economy, but I've never played it, so I'm not very knowledgeable about the value of orbs+cards vs rares+uniques. I also don't know how common/profitable is alching high lvl jewelery there (which favours iiq). In summary, the specifics on HC are for you to judge.

Lastly, I think both items have a similar value in regards to MF, and there might be other reasons to choose one over the other. For example, at the moment I am using wondertrap just because I have a +1 gems one. The fire res from goldwyrm can make your gearing easier, but the +10 str + 10 dex can save you a passive point.

I also like IIQ because makes gameplay smoother (you spend more time playing and less time identifying and buying scrolls).

What are your current values of iiq,iir and es? Keep us up to date from time to time :)

Thanks for your reply.
I have both wondertrap and goldwyrm, so I will test it a little.

Saving up for the distillate flask now was the plan, as it gets me alot of iiq and iir. Good idea?
Would you recommend the andvarius ring(s) and aursieze gloves for HC?

Im fully capped with res since im running the 3x Purity of auras. I run with vitality, dicipline and grace too. Also haste with a generosity gem linked.

Can't afford empower or enlighten gems yet.

My current values:
ES: 4158
IIQ: 14
IIR: 178

Mostly running tier 1 & 2 maps with a grp of friends. I want to get my ES a little higher before I start doing higher level maps :)

I saw someone recommend Vaal Dicipline for an "oh shit" button. What do you think about that?
178 IIR seems very low. You already get 70 from (leveled) IIR gem alone. But if that's the case, definitely use wondertrap until you can get 250-300.

About the next purchase, in the Budget section I wrote a guideline, but it follows standard prices. Getting distillate now doesn't seem a bad idea, I see they are really cheap in HC. Just have one thing in mind: since you don't have enlightens because of the new league, your reserved hp is very small, so managing the flask can be a bit annoying. The only thing I can say is that don't get mad at it, and think of it like a bonus for rares and bosses. Of course, keep it at 0 quality.

I've never been a fan of andvariuses, but they aren't bad. Even if you can keep capped res with them, it makes gearing more difficult. A gold amulet with 40+ IIR rolls is expensive, but if you also want %es (which I recommend) and resistances, it becomes almost impossible to find.
Same about the ring itself, if the character doesn't die early, eventually you would prefer a rare one and mastercraft %es on it (it cost 1ex).

Once your friends become better geared, don't run haste on generosity imo. Being fast yourself is important. For that same reason, I don't like aurseize, I can't stand the movement speed penalty. Sadima's is also better once you get past 200 IIR.

Drops wise, dried lake is a better farming area. Doing T1-T2 maps is only good if you need to build a map pool yourself (or if you are tired of farming the same area over and over).

Vdisc is a good gem. Personally I prefer Vhaste, but I can see why Vdisc can be more favoured in HC. No reason not to use both though, my character is short on sockets but you should have plenty of free ones.

Any thoughts / ideas on trying this with a Scion?
I was going to compare, but I know I would be missing out on A TON of ES if I stick with Scion for a IIQ / IIR build.

Been playing in a ton of groups lately on my main but decided to make a culler now. And I already had a Scion up so far this season. (leveling is a joke I know, but if there was a decent way for a Scion to run the build I would be uber happy :D )

I think the best you can do is going through the spell dmg nodes and connect with harrier, using the witch tree afterwards. You have to invest 5 nodes and benefit only from 5 int + a jewel, whereas you could get 10 int + jewel for 2 points. In the end you lose 3 points and 1% increased ES, which means losing 200-400 ES in your final build.

PS: I looked at your profile, and I only see a witch, I guess that char has already a build. But this means your scion isn't that high lvl, so you shouldn't be lazy and lvl :). I've heard that with Night's Hold talisman you can do it really fast.

What are some of your favorite builds to map with? And what are builds that you absolutely despise?

After some levels of gear doesn't matter much, the only thing I care is that they kill fast xD.

SRS is outstanding though. Fast and constant damage which is easy to cull, and also insane single target damage, so you can do any boss without fear (haven't tried core though). Also, they always use vaal haste, which is a bonus.

Builds that I despise... as long as they clear fast, nothing really. People don't like dischargers, but if they are well designed monsters die so fast that you don't care about worse performance. The only problem is bad performance + slow clears.
