How can I buy Microtransaction points for a friend?

Hey guys! It's a buddy of mines birthday, and I would like to get him some microtransaction points, but they don't seem to be transferable in any way?
Is there a method I am missing? Or is it intentional to stop real money purchase of items? |

If your friend has a US amazon account, consider giving him an amazon gift card. You can buy points on amazon now. Same applies for Steam, if your friend plays PoE using Steam. Get him a steam gift card for steam wallet $ and let him purchase points in the game using his Steam Wallet.
If he is a Steam user and loves Steam Trading Cards, he will especially love the second option as in-game purchases through steam allow you to get Path of Exile Steam Trading Cards. :) There is no direct 1st party method to gift points unfortunately. The most fun method is to go to your local Game Stop & buy a gift card with Steam Points on it. Not only are you buying a gift for your friend to enjoy, but you're also passive-aggressively insulting Game Stop at the same time.
