Prismatic shield (key-stone suggestion)
Really like the basic idea of that keystone. But to make it balanced i feel that the total benefits would have to be spread over several nodes so you have to invest a bunch of skillpoints to get it all (similar as it was made with the CI and Acrobatics cluster).
Taking it from there, i would suggest making the keystone: 15% reduced max block chance 60% of block chance applied to spells followed by 2-3 passives with a total of: +40% of block chance applied to spells (like for example 20+20 or 15+10+15) finished by a notable with: +5% block for dual wield/ staff /shields + 50% block recovery Total gain of the cluster at 4-5 skillpoints invested: 60% max block 100% block chance applied to spells (-> 60% max spellblock) +5% block chance +50% block recovery I believe that splitting the benefits over 4-5 nodes while adding additional utility makes it more appealing as a build choice rather than an (almost mandatory) leveling keystone for each and every block build. The above suggestion might work but would probably need some more tweaking in terms of the distribution of the stats on the passives. 11.02.2013 - 11.02.2017: four year PoE anniversary! Phase Acrobatics is essentially +max resists. So you have something over by Marauder, something by Shadow, and something by Templar. I'm simply not sold that something like this is desperately needed.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

In my opinion the following suggestion would be much more balanced
Function : Reduces maximum block cap by 25% (to 50%) 50% of block chance is applied to spells. Followed by 3 (10% of block chance is applied to spells) and one (20% of block chance is applied to spells; +10% maximum block chance) in the end of it. " I really like this concept to off-set the cost for it gains. " The difference being that +max resistance notes have a 100% reliability factor, while phase acro is pure random without entropy. There is a difference imo. Also max resistances become more value'd the higher the value gets. Phase acro cannot be stacked (recently with the addition of atziri steps i assume you could, but it is still purely random) A 99% spell block/spell dodge is still able to fail 80 times in a row, while 99%max resistance can not. Also i came up with this idea to create less reliance on purity aura's which is currently the case and to create an "unique independent" spell block build at a cost. Thus creating choice for players. There is a clear discrimination in elemental spell damage reduction on the right side of the tree. Which currently can only be covered by purity aura's and a "random" ability to block them. I am thinking the balance off-set to this is the increased value of %hp in the right side of the tree, however with spell damage being exponential the less resistance value's you have, the increased % hp is not a good enough buffer compared to the left side of the tree. Thanks for your reply's guys, peace, -Boem- @vargon, i will add your suggestion to the OP if you don't mind, i do think this could require a total of 3/4 points investment, however, it should then be "combined" with %block chance to somewhat make the investment "pay-off". Edit : " I missed this post on page one, so let me comment on it. A reduction in the max block cap is a very hefty cost, since "stacking block chance" also has very beneficial rewards to overall EHP increase. I think you undermine the severity of having only 60% block chance overall, both on spells and normal attacks. Simply put 3/4 attacks or 6/10 attacks is the cost you pay, on average to utilize this keystone, that's a lot of EHP sacrificed specially considering a block reduces all incoming damage to 0. Obviously i am proposing "random numbers" which should be handled by GGG to create balance, i am merely using them to form a concept. Bump

Atm the only spellblock node is the 12% block aplies to spells in templar tree and applies only to shields.
I think we could use one big node (not sure if it should be shield specific though). As for drawback, i'm more for something like: 50% of block chance applies to spells instead of normal attacks. 25% reduced block chance. - the reduced block chance applies multiplicatively (so basically a 20% becomes 15%) - your normal block chance is also halved and transfered to spell block my 2 cents |

Bump again.
@ Zinus, i feel your suggestion has very huge drawbacks, which is unlike a "key-stone" which might have "some" drawbacks, but otherwise is just "build enabling". Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

Is this an idea for u so u can get that "Wings of Entropy build" to have max spell block without losing block chance(assuming max block lowered)?...........
Vote: No. Then i would rather see it as: Cannot block. Convert block chance to spell block. 65% max Could also become op with tanky ass machines.. You just wasted 3 seconds reading this. Last edited by Tian_Yihao#4319 on Jun 3, 2014, 11:13:53 AM

Uhm i have no WoE build or anything like that.
This is a suggestion to off-set the necessity of purity aura's on the right side of the tree since they lack +max resistance EHP value's. With the game moving further and further away from the "75 % resistance balance" things like this need to happen or a general re-balance needs to occur. Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
