How About Night/Day Cycles?
Don't worry it will be surely implemented in the future to add more diversity.
it could be considered as day/moon light and also "real darkness" for dungeons.. what can it be used for? adding new creatures types adding new variables night/day time: reduced light radius and viceversa increased evasion against "sunlight creatures" and viceversa increased chance to meet "moonlight creatures" and viceversa adding new day/nights monster events adding new day/night specific unique items but what I really would like to see in a patch is a different use of fog of war, have you ever played dots or wc3? Players should not,see through solids, player should not see shadowed enemies; this would generate much more fear in the casual player, and more challenge for pvp players. Its a big miss and I really hope it will be implemented as soon as possible ♦▲◄▼►▲♦

" This is not a RTS game like WC3 where fog of war and day/night cycles make sense. This is a game about slaying monsters. If we had day and night cycles it would force people into different behavior and if at night there were different monsters active or something people would only play when the easy monsters are out. |

@DirkAustin
man.. it is just some night/day cycle change, just for immersion like some other people said. i think it would be cool too, and its not against poe's lore like those fucking seraph wings... i dont think that would be too hard or expensive for GGG... so why wouldnt they implement this? ...................................................₪₪╔═══════════════════════╗₪₪ ░▒▓██████▓▓▓▓▓▒▒▒▒▒▒░░░░░▀▄▀ⓡ ⓔ ⓑ ⓔ ⓛ ●๋ ⓔ ⓧ ⓘ ⓛ ⓔ▀▄▀░░░░░▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▓▓▓▓██████▓▒░ ...................................................₪₪╚═══════════════════════╝₪₪ |

I could see Day/Night cycles adding to player immersion and opening the door for interesting variables such as monster spawns, item drops, Vaal Fragment drops, NPC dialogues, Rogue Exile encounters, environmental critter spawns, sound effects and music, lore, etc. My main concern with this idea is that GGG, if committed to Day/Night cycles implementation, would very likely implement the cycles based on a single time zone, and people play PoE from many different time zones. I could not see GGG giving up the time decision to each client. Giving up the time decision to each client would mean that many players would not be experiencing the same 'world' of Wraeclast, which would be odd. Assuming one time zone usage, many players would be experiencing daylight in reality and darkness in Wraeclast, and vice versa. Overall, I think that Day/Night cycles could add to the perception of a living and breathing Wraeclast, but who knows if they are worth the implementation.
TY to those who called me out on my BS on these forums. There is no benefit to being so selfish as to fail to acknowledge others' differing beliefs of what "should be" or believe your own opinions so supreme as to be factual and thus dismiss others' opinions as being somehow a lie or delusional.

day could last 24 mins. 1 min - 1 hour in wraeclast (or day in wraeclast could last 1 real life hour)
A wild idea, imagine if there was an amulet which gave one atribute/thing during the day time and something else during the night. Day and night would give a huge space for creativity, interestign content. " its just a suggestion, its not like they SHOULD do this, do that etc. as some ppl said, it would bring more immersion to the game. why wouldnt they? :( ...................................................₪₪╔═══════════════════════╗₪₪ ░▒▓██████▓▓▓▓▓▒▒▒▒▒▒░░░░░▀▄▀ⓡ ⓔ ⓑ ⓔ ⓛ ●๋ ⓔ ⓧ ⓘ ⓛ ⓔ▀▄▀░░░░░▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▓▓▓▓██████▓▒░ ...................................................₪₪╚═══════════════════════╝₪₪ Last edited by Kandamo#7923 on May 20, 2014, 2:39:12 PM
