Question (automatic alt-tab of PoE in mid session)

Is it normal for PoE to get alt-tabbed automatically by other programs?
(not even sure if that is the cause do)

It is the second time that this has occurred and now i was running maps (2 week charity event)
i didn't die, but i fear if this happens on the wrong moment it will be game over.
(this happened to my first character on the 2 week charity event, PoE alt-tabbed in the middle of a fight and i had to close it down externally, only to find out my character was now in standard)

The strange thing is, this is a new event. It never happened before and now in this race it occurred two times.

The first time (with my ranger) it was to let me know quicktime player had an update, asking me if i wanted to install it (lmao).(again, not sure if this is related to the event)

This time, it just closed and for nothing at all. No bug error, no program needing anything, just alt-tab in the middle of a session. When i clicked on PoE, to go back into the game, i was logged off and had to relog. (normally when i disconnect, it does not alt-tab me lol, i just get kicked to the log in screen)

So is this normal and how should i proceed to fix this?
(to be safe, i uninstalled i-tunes and quicktime player, those where the 2 programs active on the background to avoid this in the future i don't wanna rip because of something stupid like this '-.- my ranger rip because of this was dumb enough.)

That would be extremely weird sir, since it has only happened in the 2 week charity race and i have been playing PoE for over one year and a half. No new software was installed in the last 8/9 months (Mcafee was installed then and had no issue's since then with it)

I have been playing the ambush league/invasion league's since it started and it has never happened there.

How can this be a software issue then?

(thanks for your help kind sir, but the way you describe it does not make sense? Well not from my PoV, since it only started in this 2 week race and never before, while having played the game without this issue for a long time)

Hmm i just checked the available threads regarding the "alt tab" issues.

I think you misunderstood my OP. I do not alt-tab. The game automatically performs this action in the middle of a session.

I am playing normally and then all of a sudden i get alt-tabed to windows, while PoE is still running in tabed version.

But i do not alt-tab myself!

(after this, the alt-tab DC probably kicks in like mentioned in the other threads?)

However my issue is with getting kicked to windows automatically. While still being in the game and me not being the one doing it (lel).

Is there an explanation why PoE would suddenly out of itself alt-tab me to windows?

Because when i search for "alt-tab" all i get is a shitload of pages with alt-tab DC threads, like seriously a lot of them.

Should i visit each one of them ?

And like i mentioned, last thing i installed was mcafee like 8/9 months ago. (obviously i let my programs auto-update so don't know about that)

i will have a check around the forums i guess...will be one heck of a check considering the alt-tab DC count threads.

Not sure what i am suppose to do with this info lol.

I checked if i have any toolbars active, like the one thread suggested. And i don't have any.

And the other thread also has no active way of solving this solution.

So i uninstalled i-tunes and quicktime player, hope they are the culprit to this issue somehow.

Edit : i will try to play in windowed fullscreen mode today, maybe that helps this problem out. If my pc can handle such a configuration that is.

But this is really fucked up, since my last char died to this in the charity race (lvl 52 ranger) and now i finally made it to maps and i am lvl 76.... i am gonna be bummed out if this gets me killed AGAIN.

Fullscreen windowed will prevent it by keeping the game non-minimized when a taskbar-alert happens...

i also have this in my ahk script, because i know myself:

Thanks a lot sonofson (lel name) i don't use AHK personally, i try to not utilize any other programs that manipulate PoE. (good or bad sort of speak)

But i do have good hopes that by playing in windowed fullscreen i will be fast enough to react when this occurs. Seems like i can get back in the game when being tabbed this way in about 1 second.

Not really a fix but it will have to do. Still waiting for it to reoccur so i can maybe have some more information around this issue. So far no issue's so it might be fixed by doing this. Yeay!
