What to do with low value orbs?

Hi,
I am quite noob in this game and I would like some hint regarding how to use low level orbs.
I have a lot of Orb of Alteration , Orb of Transmutation ,Orb of Augmentation, how can I profitable use this?

Also Is it better identify or not identify items before selling it to vendor?

Thank you
Andrea

Use them for rolling low level maps
Identifying is what most do before selling

If you have a whole lot you can vendor them up to jewelers and fusings as well.
I would identify only things you think you might be able to use. For example, if you're using a bow it makes no sense to ID maces, swords, etc. unless you need the shards for more orbs. If you're using evasion based gear why should you ID energy shield based gear? You can also use some orbs in vendor recipes to get gear upgrades. Arguing on the Internet: What's the point when you can't punch them in the face when they really piss you off?

This is good advice if you'll only ever play one character and never trade. Not id'ing stuff just because your current character won't use it is a good way to miss out on tons of valuable items.

Don't know what league you play in, but the strongboxes in ambush have kept my supply of low level crafting orbs pretty meager. When those get incorporated into the permanent leagues, they'll be a good currency sink.

You're right. I don't trade and I should have specified that I was talking about blue items mainly. When it comes to id'ing blue items my philosophy is I'm not going to miss something I never had. If it's a high level blue with nice sockets then I'll id it. Also, once I have a nice supply of transmutes I may id all blues just to get more alt shards. Sometimes I sell them all un-id'ed just to get more transmutes that I can sell for wisdom scrolls. Such is the life of a non-trader.

The only blues I pick up are rings and ammys, and I vendor them unid'ed. (And Maps, ofc., and Flasks sometimes. But you get what I mean.)
If I picked up and id'ed every blue I find, I'd be running out of Wis Scrolls within a couple hours.
I've seen people travel east, I've seen them go west.
Never have I seen so many monsters.
Save them for trade. Right now there are a lot of people buying up large amounts of fusing/alteration orbs for exalted orbs and the ratio are better than if you trade them into chaos then into exalted. You wouldn't spend that much using transmute/alteration for rolling maps so might as well convert and save up the rest.

What league you play? If you play Ambush, might wanna keep some of those for rolling boxes. Later on, you'll need some for maps, but I'm guessing you're not there now. So, here is what you do:

Transmutation - keep one stack full in inventory, check vendors every time you level up for chrome-link items (items with red-green-blue sockets linked), buy them for 1 transmute, sell them to vendor for 1 chrome. Check vendors for 6-socket items, buy for 1 transmute, sell to vendor for 7 jewellers. Excess transmutes, sell to vendor for ID scrolls.

Augments - convert to Alterations (vendor will do this).

Alterations - convert to jewellers, then convert jewellers to fusings (vendor will do this). Use fusings when you need them, excess fusings you sell to other players. Every player in the game needs fusings, yourself included.

Magic (blue) items - dont identify, dont even bother picking them up. Unless you're at the very beginning of the game. If you're heading into camp already, killed some monster and he dropped some blues and you got space in your inventory, in this case you may as well pick them up and sell to vendor unidentified.

Rare (yellow) items - identify every single one. Pick up every single one. Everything that's bad, you vendor. Everything that's good, you keep. If it's good for you, you use it. If it's good for someone else, you sell it to other players.

Unique (orange/brown/something) items - same as rares.

Once you have a good reserve (60+ Alteration, 200+ Transformation, maybe 100+ Augmentatoin) vendor them up the chain and stash plenty of Jewelers and Fusings. You'll never have too many fusings.
