Evolution only describes change. For example, the fact that you and I are not 100% identical copies of our respective parents. What you're on about is the process of natural selection and it turns out, being buddies with the dominant species is one hell of an advantage. Remember, it's survival of the fittest, not the strongest.

Why are so many cows painted black and white? Doesn't it strike you as ominous that any animalkind that is living without any kind of effective defensive mechanisms are capable of blending in with the environment ... while so many cows do anything but?
They stand out, literally saying, "Here I am. Come and eat me. I'm slow and stupid and provide plenty of food!"

They don't need to hide. If any predator (wich isn't working with the local meat factory) as much as sneezese in their general direction, they get shot.
