Lightning Strike Projectile Damage Calculation

i know they are not melee dmg, but if the damage isnt taken from the statistics of LS, where does it come from?

From your weapon, like all other weapon damage. It's simply a Projectile instead of a Melee attack, and it has a *0.7 damage multiplier.
So I've been reading the Lightning Strike Gem Forum and came across this:

When calculating damage for the projectiles of lighting strike, that base damage is increased by projectile modifiers, and NOT by melee modifiers, because it's a projectile. That includes the bonus from strength if you have iron grip.
It's also increased by all other relevant modifiers (lighnting, elemental, with [insert weapon type], etc.

Did Mark just forget to mention the 70% reduction for Lightning Strike? Or does it actually not even exist? It's written on the wiki, but otherwise I've never actually seen / heard a dev say it is now that I think about it.
I made a calculator for this:)

You my good sir are a god! :D

I only have one question then. Where do you input weapon info? Cause I don't fully understand what the end result is despite filling out all of the green.

And I noticed the 30% less projectile damage written on the gem itself. I feel so stupid now. Never noticed that when I played closed beta. :P

Um, just realized looking at this that some of the numbers are from OB. Might want to verify the values for chain, for example. I'll have a look and try to fix it later but you can locally as well.
