I just installed my system as described above and have no issues with fonts since then.

on my system, the font issue is subtle, but it's there. In my case, it's mostly that some of the letters in the text look a little distorted and squished against each other. Without seeing the actual game in any other context, I probably wouldn't have really noticed.

I guess my question to you is... is the font issue really fixed, or is it just not intrusive enough to be annoying and noticeable?

I'll need to get some screenshots or something as examples for comparison and see if my results are typical I guess. Perhaps we can get some people who say they have font issues to also post small snippets of screenshots that illustrate the issue and make sure we're all seeing the same result?
Example Screenshot:

The only problem I'm having is the italic Ts which clip into the periods.

Upload a png to imageshack.us so we don't see a bunch of jpeg artifacts. I use a hotkey to start this ImageMagick script for taking a screenshot: import -window root ~/Screenshots/fluxshot-$(date +%y%m%d-%H%M%S).png

Hmm, I have the same issue as Grundgesetz, Can you try enabling GLSL if that is the cause of the issue? If yes, we can at least open bugreport.

It doesn't change anything to the font issue if I enable GLSL.
I used to have issues with the font and some random chrashes but then i moved to PlayOnLinux and did the following:

1) created a new virtual drive with POL
2) copied the Grinding games folder in the new virtual drive (cause installing it from scratch would take days...)
3) wine1.5.24, winXP mode
4) only bypassed msvcr100 and d3dx9_36
5) disable glsl support

DO NOT for any reason run the dxinstaller inside redis folder of Grind G. Games!

My only issue now is Gnome Shell 3.6 and cairo-dock staying over the game's screen when set to windowed-fullscreen

Here's my image with my font issue. It looks very similar to others.

Ok I completely remade my Mac wrapper according instructions somewhere above (use the same for the new wine-prefix), and font issue is fixed.

Make a new wine prefix
winetricks usp10 d3dx9_36 vcrun2010 riched20 # Riched20 is optional and is for fixed launcher appereance, doesn't break anything
winecfg - manualy set openal32 to native override # fixes crashes on Linux with el. arrows, mandatory for OSX to even start the game

copied game from the old prefix to new one (no install method)

and now I have fonts fixed.
