Glass Cannon Ledge Farmer TheoryCraft, 1 Exalt Prize

I'm looking for the highest clear speed, cheapest to use build for farming at lvl 53 for merciless ledge.

One thing that came to mind, since I have a quill rain and have done it before is EA.

Although, with the change to mechanics since I played it, I'm not really sure the best way to go about this.

A few factors to consider:

1. I do not need to worry about dying.
a.) So let's assume there is no reflect or chaos damage in the game
2. I am looking for high move speed, high AOE damage with a strong single target as well.
3. Most of my gear will be taken up by iiq and iir gear
a.) I will be running low life for Wondertrap
4. Instead of HP, I need ES to at least survive a hit or two, or this is pointless.

This will be done on Ambush, and the best build will receive 1 Exalt orb on Ambush or Standard of your choosing.

Please be as specific as possible, in regards to everything that is needed for this build, as well as the math involved. Keep it as cheap as possible, and keep in mind the Unique slots taken up for iir/iiq.

Thank you for your time.

classic split arrow, various options there.. might be complete tree or options for you to make some desired tweaks. cheers :)
Just buy a Mjolnir and 3 leveled arc and go LS Thor :p
As ledge is 53 ,you don t have to worry for single target
just get a fire trap.
or
enduring cry+discharge.

When i foolishly farmed ledge for orrupted zones the fastest and by far was power siphon (ele crit variant)

Gear requirements are minimal (fast crit no dmg wand) and clear speed astonishing
Use this build if you want to leech life off the mobs. Alternatively, you can completely forgo leech and use this build for an absolutely obscene amount of raw damage.

Benefits from Passive Tree
1st Build: Ghost Reaver, Vaal Pact, +1 Frenzy Charge, 47% increased attack speed, 181% increased physical damage, 265% increased crit chance, 66% increased critical multiplier, 189% increased evasion and 105% increased ES.

2nd Build: +1 Frenzy Charge, 32% increased attack speed, 239% increased physical damage, 395% increased critical strike chance, 151% increased critical multiplier, 113% increased evasion and 115% increased ES.

Either way, ES is about the same, really the choice is about the leech vs. damage.

Assuming using 2x Andvarius, Wondertraps, Sadima's Touch, Goldrim, Perandus Blazon and a Gold amulet, you have space to get around 1k ES with good gear(Shield and Chest). Dropping more uniques(mainly Goldrim if you can shore up resists, or andvarius since you want it cheap) will give you more ES.

-Build is Flicker-Strike dagger crit.
-Run blood rage as you're at low life.
-Auras should be Grace/Discipline and Hatred.
-You want a high crit dagger, but a mightflay can do in a pinch.
-Use a Kite Shield for the resists.
-Build assumes you take every skill point except for the 16% physical damage from Oak in Cruel up to Merc Ledge(so 14 extra skill points).

For the leech build, basic links are: Flicker Strike-Multistrike-Life Leech-Blood Magic, but you can experiment with Melee Splash, Melee Physical Damage and Increased Critical Strikes.
Single Target isn't really necessary, but Double Strike or Frenzy work here.
Look for Life Leech on any items you can, the more the better.

For the damage build, links are: Flicker Strike-MultiStrike-Melee Splash-Increased Critical Strikes. Melee Physical Damage and Increased Critical Damage work well as the last slots here.

With a densely populated ledge, you can simply hold your flicker strike key down and kill everything.

Personally, I would utilize a self-casting Ice Nova Templar, because of how amazing Ice Nova looks, and the fact that you can use a +3 to cold gems sceptre with empower + Ice Nova to have roughly a level 23 Nova, which should be enough to 1-shot most mobs, and allows you to use the Stormsail Shield for 40% more rarity. On top of this, you can than utilize your chest's 4/5/6 link to hook up a (insert single target spell of your choice, I would probably use Freeze Pulse or Glacial Cascade).

Theoretical Gear:
Sceptre: +1 Gems +2 Cold Gems 3 Link --> Ice Nova + Empower + Concentrated Effect (offset by the passives taken)
Shield: Stormsail, +40 iir
Helm: Best IIR Helm you can find! ---> 4L Discipline + Clarity + Reduced Mana + Blood Magic
Chest: Something Random ---> Single Target Skill Here, Anything should work (if Nova doesn't just 1shot anyway)
Gloves: Sadima's/Aurseize (preferably Aurseize) ---> 4L Blood Magic + Reduced Mana + Haste + Purity of the Elements (or if this is not possible, use Tempest Shield, to guarentee low-life)
Boots: Goldwyrm's/IIR Boots(max 32) ---> 4L GMP + Ice Spear + Power Charge on Crit + Whatever
Belt: Perandus Blazon or Demigod's Obi
Rings: Preferably +12% Cold Damage, 65 iir gold rings, but andvarius works too
Amulet: preferably + spell damage + cold damage + double roll iir + es, but anything works here.

The goal is to 1-shot every pack consistantly without needing to abuse crit, and thus have an rng based clearspeed, and the power charges are merely a luxury if you feel like getting them up. With the ~15 es nodes taken, discipline alone should give you around 600-700 es, and than 1-2 pieces with a reasonable amount of es will be enough on top of that (preferably a 300-400 es chest, should be about 1 alch by now...)

Potions:
(optional) 2x Atziri's Promise
(optional) 1x Lavianga's (to maintain power charges if using)
4x Quicksilver Flask
1x Mana Flask
Ign: TheMidgetCow (Level 88.8 CI Leapslam Templar --- Default)
TheMidgetCowAmbush (Level 91.7 Buzzsaw Ranger --- Ambush)
TheMidgetCowBurns (Level X LowLife RF Scion --- Ambush)

LA with a mediocre thicket is going to be very fast in ledge. You will have a tough time keeping up with your kill speed. Tree doesn't really matter to much at such an easy area. Grab the run speed nodes by scion and the duelist/ranger and run haste. Have fun.

I like the idea here, definitely seems like you spent the most time on this so far. The one thing that worries me about creating a ledge farmer, is the fact that iiq is essentially nonexistent anymore. With 120% iiq you could make bank off of ledge, however only 6% on parandus is not going to be noticeable. Having said that, the big ticket items do not drop off of ledge either I don't think, but those aren't the only way to make money :) This one leads thus far. I will end the contest midnight CST Thursday (8 hours from this post).

Some good information here, however... how am I going to use a lvl 23 gem as a level 53 character?
