Why no leg armor?

Haven't read the entire thread so I'm not sure if anyone has actually posted the reason for no leg armour yet... so here you go:
There is no leg armour in PoE because there are no horses in PoE. Back in this period, when the game is based, people wore leg armour to help protect whilst on horseback. As there are no horses, GGG is sticking to the lore behind leg armour. They have confirmed this previously but alas, i have no link or intention of finding the random comment from like a year ago. Hope this clarifies. Just for try for see and for know -2013!

I also wondered this when I first started playing the game. Eventually I got used to it, but it would still be cool if they implemented pants in the future.. Just another piece of armor to build around...
