Dear OP,
I read through your whole post and it was a very nice read. I (and many others here) can wholeheartedly agree and empathize with the feelings your fiancee had towards the Diablo franchise and PoE. i can relate to that alot!
Me and my girlfriend live together and because we actually met thanks to a game (we both used to play sof2 a long time ago and now we've been together for 6 years) we are always playing together something, we did d2, borderlands, many others and last we did was dark souls :D. Alas we also played quite a bit of d3, expecially at the end of poe closed beta, we played alot in cb during last summer, when the final wipe was about to come but those dark times are behind us now :P Poe is now a constant in the evenings when we're back home and during week ends. Thank you alot for your thread, made me smile alot during the reading. |

This was so amazing!
Kind of reminds me how I met my wife. When I was about 12 I met my best friend who was at the time was very much in to PC games, and well yes D2 was one of the those games. He got me hooked, we would spend entire weekends not sleeping playing D2, well his sisters best friend just so happened to end up being my wife years later once we became adults. My wife plays PoE with me and we both love it R.I.P. my beloved P.o.E.

" I've got my wife to play board/card games. She's even at the point where she is darned good at deck building games (probably comes from playing 1-3 hands of Ascension on iOS per night with me or playing in Dominion nationals at GenCon in 2011). But other than Civ 4, I cannot get her to play PC games. And certainly not hack and slash. If your fiancee games with you at all, enjoy the shared hobby! I've certainly had more fun at game nights with my wife than I would have without her. If only I could get her to try/like PoE! Mostly Path of Exile:
