Yup, you go for zombies for the meatwagon, and you go for spectres for a specific role. Three spectres of the right sort and supported correctly will heavily outdamage 8 zombies, and 3 high level colossal statues will outtank them easily. That's the way I use them in my all-spectre hybrid, I do the bulk of damage myself so I use spectres to tank for me, colossal statues are probably the toughest but the screen shaking is pretty annoying so I often go for small statues or bonestalkers.

8 zombies sure. I was thinking more of 23zombies ^^

possible by using spectre raise dead mages that also raise 3 each.

Those zombies are made in China :)

Any betrayal you can see is trivial, What is truly frightening and much more lethal is the
betrayal you cannot see.

You don't actually need to do enough damage to kill them or even land the killing blow yourself, you just need to keep hitting them when they are about to die. You can let your minions do much of the damage.

Dominating Blow keeps you busy in combat, but there's no reason you can't have permanent minions on top of your temporary ones. Same goes for Skeletons/Raging Spirits: isn't the standard thing to have one type of temporary minion you can churn out, and additionally have a bunch of permanent minions? They all use the same minion passives, pretty much.
