no. the only dps auras for EK are hatred and haste...and haste sucks. EK's just one of the highest dps spells

Well I ran a pure aura build with EK. It's good and very safe. The damage boost you get from auras is not as high as anger/wrath builds but it's still great. It was one of my characters during nemesis and I reached level 88 with it.
My build used arctic armor and cast EK with mana. Auras were grace/determination/clarity/hatred/haste. With huge armor and arctic armor combined even double reflect did 0 to me. My DPS reached 10k although I used almost no damage nodes. HP was 6k although that's no longer possible due to the scion nerf. My projectile speed was 130% which made me hit more than offscreen. " People give haste a lot of shit but I don't see it. I use haste in an alpha's howl for most content and switch to grace for hard bosses. At lvl 22 that is 17% increased cast speed and 9% increased movement speed not even counting passive nodes that increase the effect of auras. Movement speed is one of the most useful mods in the game for clear speed and EK has a slow cast speed so the 17% x (1+ aura effectiveness nodes) is also a big deal. Keep PoE2 Difficult.

SA and LA would be weaker even if you could get away without a shield, but Prism Guardian is a must. These don't even compare to EK or ele wanders in this. Summons would be possible, but that doesn't fix the problem of restoring lost hit points. The build needs some kind of damage. " Actually, Haste would give me 32% attack/cast speed and 18% movement speed, at least when I get 100 points to spend. |

well, yes. EK, and spells in general, are extremely cost efficient. but if you're going low life, that means you have a shav...which means you're probably not strapped on currency
ele wanders don't need a crazy weapon. only phys wanders do but the main thing for low life builds is attacks get massive ias and life leech from blood rage, and basically free frenzy charges. and crit attacks with wrath basically means the whole screen is instantly triple shock stacked haste simply doesn't have a good return on investment. it's something you use when you have mana to spare and don't are out of useful alternatives. it's ok for EK since fcr is so hard to come by, but there's better mobility options than running...and there's speed rolled quicksilvers if running's your only option anyways |

I do know that on the characters I use EK on, that I always take the +18% phys damage boost as the Cruel bandit quest reward (support Oak). Makes a huge difference compared to either the skill point or the other reward. Usually for this, I go: Normal: Oak, Cruel: Oak, Merci: Skill Point, Kraityn or Oak (extra Endurance charge is always nice for my Enduring Cry/Immortal).
As for what I link into it, it really depends on if I am using EK, Reave, or Dual Strike as my primaries. Haven't tried Marauder yet, but usually for my playstyle I go: Shadow DW (dual claws or dagger & claw) (Reave, EK, ST), Duelist DW (Dual Strike + EK & Fire Trap depending on situation), Ranger DW (Cyclone & EK). The usual suspects include added elemental damage, faster projectile speed, multistrike, melee splash, Hatred, etc. Weapon mods I usually look for: increased X damage (elemental & or physical), increased attack speed, life gain/leech, and bonus if it has mana regen (even with a 30/3 internet connection, I get some desync issues too often to rely on Blood Magic for anything to be comfortable, so mana it is). I also tend to run strange combos of armor/eva/es/block (normally take dual wield block nodes, stack armor, es, life & ignore eva unless it comes on the armor, again desync issues making damage reduction via armor/es/resists/block more reliable by far than es/eva for my situation). |
