A hardcore game is not defined by name calling or use of poor language. You called someone a derogatory term, got reported, and got muted. That is not surprising. The adage, "two wrongs do not make a right," really does apply here. In the future, perhaps you will be mindful of that; use the report function if you feel a player is slighting you, rather than resorting to base name calling. Furthermore, coming to these boards and attempting to argue semantics is likely to get you punished more. Most people are capable of seeing the context you were using the word, "prick," in, so much so that reasonable doubt does not apply. You had a specific meaning, the mods (and us) know what that specific meaning was, and you are unlikely to be able to offer any counterpoint that is going to change our minds. Consider the lesson here, and stop being so very rude and disrespectful :) MOAR PANTS, because every good game needs a pointless meme.

The OP reminds me of a person trying to bait cops with a suspicious action and getting all technical and trying to make the cop look bad. In this case the cop is the mod.
Plain and simple you didn't use common sense in responding to that said person. That person might have been rude but he said nothing remotely offensive. You could have said I think you're an unpleasant person instead of calling him or asking if he is a "prick". Use better judgment or just ignore the person entirely. |
