Beta Benefits

Ya i was wondering when the beta goes public will there be any benefits that carry into the actual game or every goes to square one.

i will gladly take the beta without any added benefits

Well they said they might reset all the current testers before the beta, but then just keep adding people until the game releases and maby not wipe those beta testers unless the game has some large bug that's given those players some kind of advantage.

If the beta goes smoothly the benefit might be having a head start on others in the game.

In all honesty, I couldn't even care less. I just want to play it, period!

I'm looking at this games beta differently. I usually, as you guys, just want to start playing the game as soon as possible and have a blast. But with PoE, if I'm invited, I'll try to take it as a way of contributing to my potential dream game.

The game is free, so I can't support it financially by preordering or something like that. The only way I can help this one become the game I want it to be is testing and helping the developers ironing out the bugs, balance issues, etc.

Where did they state this? I can't find that information.

basically all betas end the same way. complete wipe of characters. some games tend to give something to players that were in the beta ( a small token item, a fancy title, something along the lines of "this isnt going to help you, but its nifty" ).
some games tend to simply say that the beta ended ( if it was successful without major bugs / gameplay fixes and item balancing ) so that the player simply gets a notice, this is no longer a beta, feel free to play on with current characters.

in short. it depends how the beta goes and what the designers want. ;)

even shorter: in hindsight, i gave no new information.

if i am in the beta or not i am always for a character wipe, or should i say a character reset. i would like to be able to save the character names but everyone should start at the same point imo. some kind of title or whatever is always cool too to have though
