Preventing players from forming parties helps solve the roaming-death-squad problem while also opening up some awesome friendly fire situations. You have to really trust your friends if they could take advantage of your low health by firing a few well-placed fireballs and taking your gear.

It has CT but it there won't be parties--->Trading disabled ;D

Only way to trade would be drop trading and then you can invade grab the item and kill the trading players ;D

We've experimented with cut-throat mode in the past and found that it's really polarising - some players absolutely love it and others hate the idea of being robbed of their items. We want to make it really clear that it's an optional mode and you don't have to play it unless you love the idea of being stalked and killed repeatedly!

Chris is so cute. Trying to prevent the inevitable. CT vs everything elitism will force players to play CT who don't want to play CT. There will be a lot of tears. Same as hc vs sc at the moment, but probably on a whole new level since there's no Alt+F4 and PvP is involved. Looking forward to the 'new' forum meta :D

Although it will be a permanent league without legacies, it sounds like. So maybe everynoe always crying about how they can't haz legacy kaoms + shavs will be happy.

There have already been dozens of self-found leagues run every season in this sense.

(it's called every solo race)

Lol, imagine a guy running around with legacy kaoms in CT. People would hunt him 24/7 for that item.

So not SFL under anyone's definition.

As far I understood it's like in D1 if you party with somebody take care of friendly fire.(Damn Rogues hitting you and Sorcerers casting Flamewall on you)

Meaning this mode is technically solo since all players in your instance will be hostile.


CT got a 5 second delay while I think 3 seconds would be better.

5 seconds is like crying "Kill me without a fight" I can only escape if I feel the invasion lag that's approx 5-7 seconds before they can Quicksilver/Leap to you in open areas.

Solo Modes have Trades disabled-->Only way is the CB drop trade way.

And imagine how hilarious that would work out.
High level characters not trusting each other.

You could create multiple RMTBoard accounts and just find RMTers to kill them and then GGG can ban them.
Player Honeypots. "YY I sell X for Fools Gold"-->Whack dead tell him you never intended to trade him you are a honeypot and report goes to GGG.

You can stack Traps on the dropped item and if he picks it up he dies.

So you use level 1 characters and some level 1-4 character gets lucky kills you both and owns an epic item/currency.

Trading will become really hard in this game since killing other players offers more benefits than mfing.

Long Term?

The longest solo race so far without wipe was 8h.
With wipe 24h.

Unless GGG adds orb of legacy this won't be happening.

But you can still troll people with something like:
Create a character sounding similar to somebody link some good item in global chat.
Enjoy the laughs that given player will be hunted down.

I remember somebody linking Tabula Rasa in 1h CT and 30 sec later he got killed.
