I agree bots kind of ruined d2.

" Could learn from Sacred 2 on this too(positive things).Players spread out a lot more on the map in this game than they do in D2.There are lots of bosses and quests spread out that make players explore more and then theres the many easter eggs to find. Bosses not tied to the main quest is a good idea as it gives variation to gameplay.Optional quests that take you to a lot of areas that are not covered in the main quest is another. |

I also played Diablo 2 for quite a few years on and off so I know excatly what you are talking about. The main problem I can see with PoE is that it is free to play meaning it will be easy for the hackers/gold spammers to create new accounts when they get banned, as you see in quite a few other f2p games at the moment. The seperate leagues sound like a good way to prevent this to an extent, but I hope it dosen't end up with everone spread out on private leagues instead on the main one.

Bots should be easy to fight in PoE - just freeze complete instance once in a while and provide all players there with good CAPTCHA. Fail it few times - account block for some time (hours / days). Fail more - account permablock.
That should be last measure however e.g. if effects of Bots become noticable. "I am The Banisher, the ill will that snuffs the final candle." - Seal of Doom (MTG) Last edited by tormenta#0582 on Jul 19, 2011, 6:17:01 PM
